    Hey All,

Broke a sway bar end link this weekend installing my 5100's. What end links have you had luck with? Usually, I would run OEM, but I can't seem to find them online.

    Thanks,

    Mike

check ebay. If you can find some with a shock eyelet poly bushing on the bottom, get that. I ran a pair like that from Downey OffRoad for a decade without issue.

    RIP Downey

i just did Moog. I will say that their bushings they supplied with them felt like hard plastic, nor polymer or rubber. I used Wheeler's anti sway kit which includes end link bushings.

I would be money your sway bar bushings could be replaced, might as well do those too while you are there. Just an idea

@Roman can hook you up with OEM.
Or, I might have some lying around here, can't think of where right now.

I trashed both sides, the bushings were shot regardless. I'll just go with a set of Moogs and replace the bushings if they fail.

    Thanks all.

I have a pair of OEM from my ‘05. Probably took them off in 07 when I installed the Downey’s. They look great rust free and joint feels nice

I bought a set for my 2000 tundra 5 yrs ago from eBay. I had broken 2 sets in the past so I found a set of custom made heavy duty ones for I think $25.00 I don't remember the site but, I haven't had any problems since. The tubing is twice the size as the stock links and welded very well.

well that sucks. I would have bought those. I mean Moogs are roughly $30 a side, so I was in it for $60. Another $40 for a pair that stout would have been a no brainer for me. Dang! :annoyed:

Edit: I found those same end links elsewhere for $89.95 just a heads up. Making it an even better deal! Oh well, maybe when my Moogs pop I'll get those.

Curious - how did you tighten down the vertical bolt? Even my thin wrenches can't fit in to grab the bottom nut to keep it from spinning.

I had to jam a pair of long nose locking pliers in there and clamp them down as tight as I could. Turn the wheel all the way out to give you more room to work.

I hate the top nut design they give you. The locknut is basically an oval nut that cuts/mutilates the end link threads as you go.

    locknut1.jpg

I toss that crapper and use a nylon locknut then double it by putting another ontop. No problems in the last 20 years.

I just got these links too but don’t waste your time using the needle noise pliers. It’s much easier to take the bottom bolt out (next to the gold link) then tighten the top with a 14mm wrench while using another 14mm wrench on the bottom skinny nut. Once that’s tightened down bolt the bottom bolt back in and done.

Yep, those are the ones I used. No complaints here. I don't think they changed the ride at all. I didn't enjoy driving the truck with the sway bar off.

I think I'm finally tired of driving a boat. I'm going to start piecing together a set of end links to get my factory sway bar hooked up to my control arms. Let's just say I hope it's not too hard, but I have little faith that it won't suck.

Re-installing my front sway was super nice. Made the truck alive again. When I added a rear sway bar, she really changed even more dramatically for the better. Wooooweeee!

Yes. The Hellwig 7700. It has 3 settings. Start out on the easier setting and work your way up depending on preference. I moved to the middle and like it. So no need to go farther (for me).
