Solutions for holes left from front license plate bracket.

I removed the front license plate bracket the day I bought my truck, and have tried a few different plugs I found at Home Depot, and a few more I bought on Amazon but haven't found anything that fits, and has a clean look. Any suggestions?

 

I went through about 30 different grommets, they were all either the wrong size, or sat too proud - I'm looking for something that will blend in nicely.

 

I just got 2 matching screws and spray painted them black, they have looked good forever...

 

A plastic pop rivet will sit pretty flush.

Aftermarket bumper would solve that.

I bought this kit, and none of them fit - I could have drilled the hole out a little more to get one to fit but was hoping to go a little less invasive.

Guess I'm too tight to spend $27.95 + shipping to fill bumper holes. Black ceramic coated 1/4-20 carriage bolts. Select matching nuts, out of there for about $2. Hack saw length to suit.

Edit: If the backside of the bumper is inaccessible to install the nuts, browse Lowe's specialty fasteners. They have all manner of large flat head screws in black finish. You'll find something that will work.
