Process Controls Engineering Technician reporting for duty. Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance background.

Experience not limited to what I tinker with off duty (at home) from my actual job. Haha.

Retired 4 years ago at age 53. I began working for the Burlington Northern RR as a switchman and worked up to being a locomotive engineer. I patented a railroad crossing signal activation technology then started a business to manufacture, market, install, and provide maintenance on installed railroad signals.

 

I'm a retired CPA and also work for my wife and do whatever she tells me to do.

 

Would love to get my eyes on MOP’s for valve change outs to see how the big distribution guys plan work.

I'm not retired yet (maybe 5 more years when I turn 62) but I also do whatever my wife tells me to do...

 

12 years in banking , I'm an operations manager for a major national bank. Was an ironworker / welder , police officer , and home builder prior to landing in banking. I tell people I'm one Indian short of completing the village people.

 

Got 10KV? I can measure up to 100KVDC/AC with our Ross Divider but I try to avoid verifying "Ground Thumpers".

Retired at 50 as a special agent, now daily I workout, ride my peloton, road bikes, drink beer, shop, and wonder around, lol.

 

Man I have a boring job compared to some of these... Sell investment real estate, apartments and retail buildings ha.

 

I negotiate with little terrorists as a pediatric dentist...yes...sometimes I too wonder how I got here???

 

Do you guys have any type of stop the bleed kits there? Reason I ask is the potential for a serious injury that person may bleed out before fire/ems gets there.

 

Everytime I take my almost 5 year old grandson to the dentist...he says..."no shots, no water". Fortunately he had no cavities last check up. Teeth cleaning is a bish...damn...will I ever get some peace???

Ha no. More of a roll you over and bring in the replacement kind of place. When I was injured (took breaker bar to the face) I shattered my jaw in 3 places they gave me a ride to the hospital in a car that we had to stop for fuel. Then when we stopped the guys card got declined so we had to use mine. All the while I was bleeding into a trash can..

 

I'm a stay at home daddy right now. when the boys get older i will get back into residential repairs and renovations. I would rather be retired and off roading though. one day soon i hope.

 

28 years in the coal mines of SW Indiana, last 23 was for Peabody Energy, biggest coal mine in the Midwest. The equipment is huge and fun to run but a traumatic motorcycle accident (no fault of mine) took me out of the coal business. At age 50 I became an above knee amputee, just thankful God didn’t take me that day. Guess you could say I’m retired/on disability. Carpenter here. Been doing house building for the past 6 years. Was in automotive manufacturing before and had a career change. Still make less now but i enjoy what i do. We do high end residential. Planning to start my own thing flipping houses next year while having a side business building canoes, kayaks, and tables. I like variety especially when i get to design it.

 

I do really fun stuff ,taxes and accounting.

 

I was a dealership tech for 3 years, then went to heavy equipment, then spent 22 1/2 as a Transportation Investigator / Negotiator for the Texas Lemon Law. Best job ever.

 

I absolutely love to watch that big equipment work. I've never seen it in person but I'd like to someday

 

Jim, if you would ever make it to Indiana and you’d have time I could prolly arrange for you to see it in person. Just for fun the big end dump truck pictured is roughly 26’ wide, can haul 240 ton give or take, roughly 2200hp, 1000 gal fuel tank. A truck would burn roughly 400 gal of fuel in a shift. (10 hours.) Thinking Bear Run Mine had around 50 some trucks running around.

Aircraft Maintenance Tech with Delta Air lines at O'Hare Intl'. 31 years with Delta and have worked in Tampa, Atlanta, Milwaukee and now O'Hare. 9 years to go before retirement....

 

Looking to transfer into DHS, after 17 years in aviation and all their BS, I'm ready to move on to some different type of BS. By reluctant choice I'm an Air Traffic Assistant at ZOA, previously an Air Traffic Controller, Target Sr. Assets Protection, Navy Air Traffic Controller NJK/CVN-68/CV-67.
