A while back I posted that my wife and I were working on a major renovation of the first floor of our house. I acted as the GC, doing as much as I could myself so It has kept me pretty busy the past few months and I am just now posting. I took pictures along the way and meant to keep a running thread going but kept forgetting to post anything. So here we are pretty much all done.

to create a completely open floor plan we had to move our kitchen to the other side of the house swapping it with the dining room our renovation consisted of...

    Completely gutted the first floor.

Removed load bearing walls around the existing kitchen and dining room.

Install 3 LVL beams to carry load.

Closing off old entry way and framing out new windows.

Replace old windows with new construction windows

All electrical and plumbing get replaced and brought up to code.

Install propane tank and gas line for stove and grill on patio.

    New insulation and drywall.

Refinish floors throughout the entire house.

Install new cabinets appliances and countertops.

    and if that wasn't enough

Landscaping 100'x30' area along the road to make a privacy screen.

    The before pics.

From the living room looking to the dining room.

Looks amazing! Question, where you had to cut the counters to fit the stove in, what did you use to not see the cuts? I cut my counters to put a stove in also, but the cut edge is driving me bonkers, looks terrible

Probably a round over bit with a router and polish and seal the edge.

The countertops are granite and those were cut by the granite company. The stove that we have has a lip that overhangs the counter so you cant see the cut edge.
