I can sit for hours in my truck using appendix carry.
OWB at 4:00 isn’t an issue either (I don’t carry IWB at 4) but you HAVE to have the right holster for your build.
Sometimes this takes purchasing several holsters.

This has a lot to do with your build. Heavier people usually don’t like appendix very much. I will tell you tho it takes some getting used to either way. The right holster helps

Been looking at the new Springfield Armory Hellcat lately. Finally was able to fondle one in the local gun shop and it felt very nice with the optional 13 round magazine. It's the smallest pistol I could ever carry and still feel confident in. The LCP and other baby pistols are just too small for my hands and don't evoke a bit of confidence. Hard pass on anything smaller than 9mm and under 10 rounds...

That dont look like a carry. But it's a sweet home defense set up.

This is by far my favorite carry I've bought. That's based on its accuracy for me, reliable fire everytime I pull the trigger, and its ease of carry, sometimes I forget it's there.

i think it’s a perfect EDC. In fact it’s prob one of the most effective. You have red dot for lighting and a light for night time and to blind the perp. Some may need some time to get used the size or weight but a great setup

Dude a gun is a gun. That thing could save your life or your families. Who care if it’s not $1000 or the best thing. Dude i see guys on the range with $800 guns with a $800 optic, $800 can, and a $200 light yet they can’t even hit the paper. Just get some trigger time and use that bad boy

Anyone edc a red dot gun? I'm right handed but left eye dominant so getting a good sight picture has always been an issue, I had myself trained to the "turn your head" method but my free time for shooting and dry firing has been a lot more limited the last couple of years and I realised I've lost that muscle memory. I've been working the last couple of days on drawing and dry firing but I'm wondering now if putting a dot on my edc could fix ( or band aid) my eye issue with the limited time I have for training. I know from having dots on long guns I can shoot head straight both eyes open with no issues, but I've never shot a pistol with a dot on it.

I don't carry a dot but I have a handgun with a dot and it is awesome to shoot. Super easy to get your sight picture once you figure out the POI. I could see how it would be hugely beneficial for cross eye dominance.

Do you have to modify for draw for proper alignment with a dot?

Another plus is that they are a easy flip if you buy them right, unlike Springfield XDs . I’ve sold a few of them for a quick $50-$90 bucks. Yet to move a XD for anything other than break even. Hell, I tried to make $25 on my last XD and no takers so I held on to it.

I’d be interested to hear how it works out for you if you try it. My son in law’s dad has the same eye issue and I suggested a red dot. I assume it would be better.

I went ahead and ordered a cheaper red dot and dovetail mount to put on my back up shield to try it out. If I like it I'll get my edc milled for a top end sight. Although it will pain me to put a 400 sight on a 400 dollar gun

I ended up stopping by my lgs on my way home from work, unfortunately they didn't have anything with a red dot on it but they did have red dots and a dove tail mount for the m&p line so I picked up a sightmark mini shot m spec which was one i was looking at as a budget option and the mount. 250 dollars (don't tell the wife) and ill have my answer later tonight hopefully. I held the dot in my first and extended my arm and only saw one dot with my head forward and both eyes open so its promising

Not your draw but I did have to modify my presentation a little. I find if you consciously drive the muzzle down a little more than you normally would the dot is right where you want it. It also helps to keep the gun tighter to your chest when you draw so you have a little longer to find the dot as you drive out if that makes sense.

That does make sense, I need to work on my draw anyway. I'm not gonna have time to mount it up tonight so I'll have to do it tomorrow. I should be able to make to the range this weekend.

I got the red dot installed, sight picture is really good, I’m gonna try and hit the range this weekend to see how I do with it. I’ll keep you guys updated.
