I installed by 10" system on Friday and then took a road trip with the family over the weekend. The 10" is perfect for my setup. Excellent work @dirtydeeds !

I was on a 2-lane highway with rolling hills at around 60 - 65 MPH, so the engine spent plenty of time lugging up the hills trying to keep the 35" tires going. As advertised, the low RPM grunting is louder than stock under load, but with the 10" mufflers the exhaust was present but not obnoxious. At normal engine load the exhaust and the tire wine are at about the same level.

The exhaust sounds sooo good under hard acceleration outside the truck, but just the right amount of rumble inside for me. My 17 year-old took it for a spin while I stayed at home to listen. It was nice and quiet for the 1/4 mile cruise to the end of our road, but when he matted it at the stop sign getting out of the neighborhood I could hear it from home. (nice feature to have it he ever has to drive it in the future)

 

The gaskets were delivered Sunday. Will fit perfectly. Now to get my truck back from the body shop.......

 

I may have to order 2 myself. I have a small leak and the high temp sealant didn't work or I didn't do it properly in the cold. May try again in the spring and/ or use this gasket. The old exhaust was so rusted, the bolts had to be cut off and the flange wasn't smooth anymore so I think that's why there's a small leak.

 

Installed the 8 inch this morning. Sounds amazing! Thanks Keith!

I think this is the issue I’m having as well. Had some suspension work done so while the truck was on the lift had them install my standard 8” .. when I start the truck up it’s pretty raspy / rough on idle, I think ‘ticking’ is a good word. I know the shop said that gasket that was included with install kit didn’t fit right and had to use a different gasket, but is it likely that I’m having a leak to make this sound?

 

For the fellas with a wife not wanting to spend the $ on a useless stainless steel pipe group buy ripping amazing sounds while cruising around town or on the highway, the sound is amazing! I bought/installed my 8" after a group buy last March timeframe? Didnt put the resonator on, initially wanted to give it time to see the results, still haven't installed it, and wont ever... Wife was def impressed after the 5 hr roadtrip to househunt for our next house in FL last May and was hooked after her doubts. Fast forward many months later, she drove my Tundra the other day to work while I did her oil change on her 4runner and commented how much she doubted her initial reactions and still loves it and wants one on her 4runner but mentioned it would be corny on a 6banger .

 

Finally got my truck back and installed my 12" system today. Very nice indeed. I have leaks at both front flanges, and the gaskets that I tried from Summit Racing are NOT the ones for our systems. I didn't realize there were ANY gaskets on the OEM setup, but one fell off while I was taking the OEM muffler off. I do believe that the BOSAL 256-287 is going to do the trick. You mind me asking how much? I'm considering the TRD Pro one for my Pro Sequoia. Still can't believe the pro exhaust is optional on the pro sequoia.....

Ok so I've had the 8" stainless installed for about a month and a half. Love the sound! But there are some times when the drone can be a bit much. For those that installed the resonator, how much did it effect the sound? Any thoughts or opinions?

not much outside but incab, it made a big difference

 

It's been almost 4 months since my install and in love it. Wife hasn't noticed or said anything about it.

 

Is there any noticeable drone inside the Sequoia? Which size did you go with?

 

10". Yes, there is some drone at certain rpms and by shifting down to 5th hear at highway speeds, drone is gone. Wife has not complained.

 

Are you using a resonator?

 

Lol only thing my wife says is man this thing purrs when u smash the pedal no idea I put exhaust on

 

For anyone that has the budget system, I leave early for work is this loud enough at start up to wake your neighbors? I live in a small neighborhood.
