Discount did this crap on my wife’s 4Runner. She got new tires before a summer road trip. The car was rough as hell so about 3 hours in I pulled over. She had 65psi in all four tires 265/70r17. I was pissed lol

For giggles the wife sent me to Walmart so I lowered the tire pressure down to 35psi. It made the ride noticeably softer but the steering wheel still shakes. Kinda think it’s more pronounced at 35psi

This is not true unless you have the same tire rating and same size that came with the truck. Once you change sizes and or load rating that sticker is obsolete. My d rated tires larger tires require 55 psi. My sticker for my stock p rated tires was 32 psi.

OP have you contacted Toyo to see what psi they recommend? I emailed general tire when I bought my new tires told them what size load rating and type of truck I have and they told me exactly the psi they recommended based on that. They recommended different psi front and rear. Depending on the load rating you may actually need more air in them not less. Mine rode poorly at 45 psi as well.

I had somehting similar. It ended up being the TPMS sensor being loose and it eventually came loose inside the tire.

We had a blizzard last night so discount said it would be hard to get a good balance on my tires.

Spoke with Toyo and the recommended psi for my tundra is 39psi front and 42psi rear.

I’m at the suspension shop right now. They said all the bolts took about 1/4-1/2 a turn on the nuts. So there was definitely some settling.

I’ll get tires checked Friday when I get home and the weather has cleared up.

Following...OP keep us posted. I installed some new tires years ago and had a similar issue. Turns out one of the tires was "out of round" - basically a bad tire.

What rims/wheels are you running, they look sharp?

They are stock 20x9 +50mm TSS wheels. It’s a Gulf States Toyota package! Tires are Toyo RT 295/55r20

None! I tow a boat weekly
You can also rotate the tires front to back and see if your problem goes away.

I had that issue too on my old f250 with some falken tires. In my experience out of round though would vibrate/shake all the time and only get worse around 45-60. Keep us posted op.

Edit : if you want to test out of round theory or narrow it down to a specific tire move the front tires to the back and see.if the shaking moves from the steering to your butt. If it does it's a tire specific problem. If the shaking does not move you can eliminate a tire defect.

Got the suspension torqued and alignment bolts checked. Didn’t change anything. Today I had the tires rebalanced by discount and I believe the shake is gone. We will see tomorrow when I can get it on the highway

Truck rides smooth again after the rebalance. So much better with the tires at 39psi & 42psi. 50psi was too harsh. It appears they removed and replaced weights a little forward on all 4 wheels.

Something I plan to do next is sound deaden my truck and the wife’s 4Runner. I don’t have the best hearing and all the road noise in both vehicles makes it difficult for me to hear the radio and conversations clearly
