Because of your update, I've just read this thread. Some gut-wrenching stories here. Those of us that have been blessed to avoid cancer's curse have no idea. Thanks for starting this thread and sharing your victory. Congrats @Black Wolf.

In some cases T level never gets back to normal or can take years to get to normal.

I treat cancer for a living. I assist in many prostate procedures involving radiation. Crazy how many people have cancer. We treat an average 100 patients on 2 machines daily. Sad but yet rewarding.

My radiation machine was in constant use all day. My treatments were only 12 minutes in duration until the last week. The new gen rad machines are damn precise.

Glad to hear things are looking bright for you. I agree that the technicians and staff do wonders. I had 39 treatments from July to September this year. Every single staff person at the treatment center was nothing short of amazing. Always smiling and making all of the patients as comfortable as possible. Several of them gathered around when I rang the bell too.

The center where I was treated operated continuously from 6:30 am until midnite 5 days per week. Scary just how prevalant prostate cancer is.

Man, you are sure right there, Ron. Really tugs at your heart to see the number of toddlers, total hair loss, obviously frail for a child of that age, yet still smiling and upbeat. Hard to imagine what anguish the parents have been through, too.
Matt, if you want to try a little natural testosterone enhancement, both tribulus terrestris and lycopene are helpful for low-T. Avaliable at online or retail vitamin shops.

Damn, this is somehow the first time I've come across this thread. It's awesome of you, Matt, to be so open with everyone about your experience to raise some awareness of the issue for the rest of us. It's even more awesome that you're kicking cancer's ass! Keep it up!

Been quite some time since I've posted here. COVID interference. Got blood work done yesterday finally. I see my doc next week. A bit antsy about what the results will be. I need a change of scenery soon but it all depends on how things go.:fingerscrossed:

Just came across this myself; I've been taking Flomax for 10 years or so (literally every male in my family has BPH, though none of us have/have had prostate issues), and this is giving me the impetus to go get checked as well (I'm 44). Wife is a nurse, and has been for > 20 years, and tells me "That gets checked regularly, and it's fine", but still....given I just got done dealing with a lithotripsy (where they roto-root a kidney stone by sticking something up your :censored:), for DAMN sure I want to make sure I get ahead with any changes I need to make or catch anything.

Quite sure I'm fine, but one never knows. My best to you, and from one Matt to another (heh) I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, brother.

Matt, Ron, praying for good news for you. My 2 year quarterly check (8th) since radiation will come up in August, then we go to semi-annual. PSA is no longer dropping as of 3 checks back and has levelled off at 0.4. So that looks to be my base number.

Thanks Ron! My last PSA /Testosterone tests were in late January. Hopefully PSA is still <0.1 and Testosterone level jumped up......

Thanks Mike. 0.4 is good. Not bad at all for a base level. No longer dropping is definitely a good thing!

Hope your test results come back good. My grandfather was diagnosed about 20 years ago but they caught it early and it went into remission. When he passed away about a year and a half ago, it wasn't the cancer that took him.

I live in a retirement community and most everyone I Golf with (hundreds in the Men’s Clubs) have had it or have it. My father just finished his last treatment for it. I know I get everything my Dad does so I do not have a lot to look forward to. Wish there were preventions or fixes but I do not know of any. This is a long thread and when I get more time I will dig more through it

Prayers all around. Matt I have my fingers crossed for you! I just past my 2 year mark with no real PSA so I have my last semi annual check this month and if all goes well I go to once a year.
