Do a drop in, remove charcoal filter or look into SABM if you feel like tinkering.

What about the TRD cold air intake factory mod. Is this worth doing?

The factory air intake systems is the best.

If you free up the exhaust side then it's worth dropping in a free flowing air filter, otherwise - stay with stock.

I have to agree with the others about leaving it stock.
If you feel the need to buy something, maybe a Magnum FLOW Pro DRY S Air Filter.

    https://afepower.com/afe-power-31-10146-magnum-flow-pro-dry-s-air-filter

    https://www.amazon.com/aFe-Power-31...FZEVRN2R8RY&psc=1&refRID=55R2NDVBDFZEVRN2R8RY

I've always used the OEM air filters.
Never use an oil based filters (from what I've read), it will mess with your sensors.

Toyota spends alot of time and money on Research and development and testing with all kinds of Hi-tech equipment....................that you dont have. Leave it stock.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
Careful with anything labled "high flow", "free flow", what it really means is More dust particulates that can cause engine wear (grit against pistons) is allowed in compared to Stock.

I mean how can you get more flow without letting in more bad stuff??

Great air filter... it really earns it's keep if you also open up the exhaust with something like a BAMuffler cat-back.

Stock, or maybe something that gets rid of the stock style filter. I’ve used the TRD drop in, K&N, and AFE dry flow. All pulled dust through on the first trip off-road, stock filter let’s nothing visible past it.

any performance mod done to computer controlled engines are wasted if not tuned for the new air, exhaust or fuel. This is what I was told by local performance shop.

It only works if you add a front spoiler, a whale tail in the back, some side skirts, rear diffuser, slicks, and some ground lighting...................and the Dice hanging from the rear view mirror.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
Toyota has a really good design straight form the factory. Just replace the filter with a TRD or K&N and you're good to go. If you want to get all fancy pants, get the air accelerator from the TRD CAI and install it as well.
