Ha! Better memory than I thought... I haven't done the Banff-Jasper since 2007. I've been waiting till my kids were the right age (not too young that they don't remember, not to old to be crabby teenagers). I've spent the other time doing the East coast (Can and US sides) and the US rockies as well as Fernie, Waterton Lakes, etc.

I've been looking forward to this one since the day I left to go back home in 2007. I'll be going as far as Golden BC down through Yoho so I'll undoubtedly see that exact place again.

There's some beautiful country there. If you're doing the tourist thing, get there EARLY, especially during summer vacation. Shortly after 9am the tour buses and piles of people show up. If I'm showing family the area, I like to leave Calgary around 5:30am when doing the trip: First stop is Takakkaw Falls up Yoho Valley Road, then on to Natural Bridge and Emerald Lake.

Then on to Wapta Falls (which is a great hike, but I like to put on trail runners and run it) and Golden. There's some free camping along the Kicking Horse river just off the Beaverfoot Forest Service Road. Once you cross the river turn right and go past the cabins and there's lots of spots you can drive to - all Crown land. There's also a great viewpoint further up that Forest Service road with free sites overlooking Wapta Falls. We love it up there.

Amazingly, I do not. I'm 54 years sober. LOL. My dad drank enough for BOTH of us - hell, enough for the entire family (extended family) and I determined early on I'd never start. I'm also diabetic, so boring with food too.

My vices are Diet Coke, Pizza, Nachos and spending too much money on vehicles.

Great pics @AlbertaBeef! Western Canada sure has some amazing country. My only gripe is how many people pack into those national parks. I avoid the parks at all costs, too many people for my taste. I tend to go way off the beaten track. Nearly comparable scenery without the crowds and tame wildlife.

I've imported multiple vehicles from the US into Canada. It's easy. All the information is here: https://www.riv.ca/Home.aspx

The only 'tricky' part - until you get the hang of it - is the US Customs clearance (they have to clear it to cross before you enter Canada - also here: https://www.riv.ca/USCustoms.aspx). I only say 'tricky' as Canadians aren't used to reporting to US Customs on the way back ... LOL. It also takes time for their paperwork to clear and you MUST make sure the paperwork goes to the same border-crossing/port-of-entry you're taking the vehicle through.

Use the site, all the info is there. It's been quite smooth for me in the times I've done it.

That was remarkably helpful thank you!

Any issues with leveling or bigger tires or anything that I should be concerned with?

Hey Buds! Not much. Been working too much... but the way things are here these days I guess that’s a good problem to have! What about you?! You and yours keeping well?

She’s at the dealer as we speak. Supposed to be done Monday. I feel so lonely without her. :p ;)

Maybe try The Gear Shop. They aren’t audio guys per say, but work on a pile of Toyota’s and could maybe point you toward a recommended audio shop?

I’m doing good! Busy at work also. Like you said it’s a good problem to have lol.

so are they doing both side? Mine was leaking on driver side, but service manager said since they will be in there might as well do both sides! Mine goes in on Monday for the surgery.

Nope. Dropped it off Friday 0700 for a “one day job”, and now they’re saying it won’t be ready until end off day tomorrow. And they only wanted to do the one side. Pretty choked at that level of service and doubt I’ll be back for vehicle service or new sales.

I can’t tell you how excited I am. And can’t bloody wait either! I’ve had the paint and liner for about a year and a half already! Not a day goes by I don’t think about refinishing it. Sooooon!
