    Hey,

wanted to get a quick opinion from you guys. I’ve been wanting to join the 1st gen group and I finally found a good tundra.

    110k miles
    Timing belt changed
    asking for $14k
Although carfax shows one minor accident, no airbags or frame damage.

    Clean underside except for this...

I’m not mechanically inclined, but is that a costly part to replace? Only part I see with bad rust underneath is the drive shaft which I would guess is a costly fix

    Any insight is appreciated !

Has the frame been replaced under the recall?

    Year? Access or Double Cab?

Looks pretty rusty under there for 14K.

    Thanks for your opinion ,

    it’s a 2005 double cab limited
He added that the rust hasn’t gone through the frame / any rotting anywhere else on the truck

The guy said it hasn’t been recalled yet, but would the recall even replace all those parts that are rusted?

In all seriousness, your comment of "I’m not mechanically inclined" leads me to add there are a numberrrr of items that need TLC just in what I see in those 3 pictures. I'll let others add comments cost wise on that rear end/drive shaft but I see :spending: galore !

I would think for $14,000, you should be able to get a really nice, no issues, and fairly rust free double cab Tundra.

    This isn't it.

My suggestion would be to keep looking.

    Good luck!

$14K should get you a truck in better shape than that. I paid roughly that for an 06 double sr5 w/ 102K miles in the NW last spring. They're out there, keep looking!

Run. The trucks got undercoating hiding the rust. It’s probably really rough under all that gunk
