Yes,I heartily agree on the wiring. You spend a big chunk of change on a light set, only to get $1 store wiring hardware. I also think this is something Arex needs to be stepping up their game on. The wiring feels chintzy at least to me.

My cutoff with the truck at 25 ft. Aimed for about 39" on passenger side and sloping down on driver side. Overlapping cutoffs in the middle.

There is light bleeding up as you can see. Not enough to bother other drivers as I went for a drive.

I agree the DRL in particular could use a standard Deutsch connector. I've seen other DRL kits that come with them and if bought in bulk they wouldn't add much to the price.

Nice. Glad everything fit for you, and it looks like that light bleed would be hard to notice when driving down the road.

So my OCD got the best of me. I initially bought these Aukee H7's because I had worries of a fan fitting inside the dust cap. They fit with plenty of clearance in all directions, but I wasn't sold on the beam. Seemed to bleed up with a few visible flares (see my previous posts in this thread).

I ordered these Hikari H7s (initially didn't because the fan seemed longer) after seeing how much more room the Alpharex's had. I've used the Hikari in other vehicles with no problems and like them. The Hikari has a longer fan, but skinnier radius. The LED chip is in the same location, but the Hikari has a longer board by a few MMs. Both have the expected removable collar that allows you to clock the bulb as needed.

And the Hikari has the built in transducer or whatever the silver piece is called on the Aukee making it less stuff to place into the headlight housing:

I can report the Hikari fits just fine:

Will have to wait til dark to see how the cutoff is with the Hikari bulbs.

Not sure on size, but you'll need to buy new ones anyway as the Alpharex uses H7 bulbs.

So, I received my Hikari ultra bulbs today and was stoked to install them and report back....unfortunately, one is DOA and I am awaiting replacement. For now, I left the good one in on the drivers side with the halogen on the right. Will take pics tonight when it gets dark.

That sucks. Did you buy the red box (regular) or the white box (ultras)?

I bought the ultras and thought that I was getting a great deal on Ebay. Just tried them out to compare and half of the banks on the "good" bulb are bad as well. The 1 bank of bulbs was super bright though. I hope that this isn't a showing of the quality from the manufacturer, but rather a bad seller on Ebay who knew the crap that they were selling....the wait continues....Here is a pic of the fitment though. It's super tight, but I was able to get the dust cover on. This is the passenger side which is worse then the driverF5A73363-35CF-4684-9206-3FC72CBCB407.jpg

Cut off with the regular Hikari H7s. Truck is at 25 ft aimed at the wall.

Truck still at 25ft but me at 15ft to get a better picture of the cut off

To me, the Hikari's don't bleed over the top and don't have hot spots vs the Aukee H7s I originally used.

The cutoff looks very clean, how is the light output? It is always difficult to capture the actual look of the light being thrown. I have a set of ultras (white box) that will be here on Monday and a set of the red ones for the fogs that will be here tomorrow.

I'm not a fan of the 6000k. It's white and bright, but sometimes I don't think my eyes fully captures it all. Plus it's white with snow here so the leds looks like it just blends in. I'm torn if I want to step down to hids. Maybe I'm just used to the 4500k hids I had on my 4Runner.

Rx350 retrofitted, Morimoto Led fogs. interior and exterior leds swap. TRD drop in filter. Carbon filter delete. Led DRL panels. TRD Shift knob.
6k are nice in dry weather. But rain and snow will make you regret having them.
Im running 4300k morimoto d2s (rav4 nhk g5r projectors retrofitted) they are fairly good in rain and snow. You get a warm white instead of cool white look.

Morimotos is still my 1st choice but I'm interested in NOVA street price/performance.

When I began looking at the Alpharexs I stumbled on to this video. Alpharex provided him a free pair in order to do an install and review. They look similar to the pro model except with the spider eye beams. Maybe they are brighter but at 900, I'll pass. Additionally, I reached out to Alpharex and told them I would sport their logo decal and do a review on the NOVAs if they threw me a set......didn't bite. With the Morimotos out, they need to maintain and expand what business they already have before the new Morimoto shipments arrive.

In response to a few of the recent posts. I agree, with the Morimoto XB headlights available the Alpharex Nova's would be a tough sell. For the 900ish price range I would definitely prefer the switch back DRL/turnsignal of the Moritmoto. I think The Alpharex Pro headlights are a good buy when supplemented with LEDs for the projectors. Overall I've been happy but it would be better if I would have waited a week for the release of the Pro headlights with the motorized adjustment. The Pros's haven't been the easiest to adjust and I do miss the factory headlight leveling feature.

Night pics of these attached. The cutoff is nice but there is more shadowing than I expected. 2 shadows are right in the middle of the field of view which I think is due to the fact that the LEDs are on each side of the bulb and not the front (just the nature of LEDS). Or, possibly, I have them oriented incorrectly (don't think this is the case). Input welcome. Overall, I think I am happy with the output and outcome.IMG_4589.jpgIMG_0847.jpgIMG_0293.jpgIMG_0880.jpg

@Beau I wonder if the shadows are the lcd board. The light doesn't wrap around it?

I noticed my basic Hikari's have a shadow dead center in each projector when up close against the wall.

Thats what I was thinking. The beam pattern at the bottom resembles the shape of the Led board. Do yours look the same at the bottom? It's not noticeable from inside the truck, only when you stand at the front. Is there anything we can do to get rid of the shadow? I tried turning the bulb and it just changed the position of the shadow.

Mine aren't as pronounced as yours on the ground. I definitely see the shadow points when I'm nose up to the garage door, but it gets overlapped as I back away.

Ordered the GTR Ultra 2’s. I also had to order some bumper to headlight brackets that were missing, new screw grommets, and a few other little things to tackle while I’m in there. Will report back in a week or so.

Drove around this morning with wet roads/snow and I'm not a fan of the 6000k leds. Some spots I couldn't even tell if my headlights were on. Going back to semi-old school HID tech. Ordered 4300k Kensuns (had them on my 4runner previously). Luckily Amazon returns have become painless with Kohls taking their stuff.
