Allright i changed my oil today. PITA. So who makes a better SP with filter hole and cover thats not $3-$400? Dont say TRD.
I read that Lexus makes an aluminum filter piece to replace the plastic one.

Also why did toyota use a plastic intake on the Tundra?? Lots of plastic on my 2014.

Replacement filter housing As for your first good luck with that I've done mine twice already and feel you pain. Probably not so much as I have a lift to do my oil changes on.

RCI lists that their plate fits 07-17. Does the same plate fit all years? I know where a trd plate listed as 07-13. If so it should fit

It makes sense to consider the aluminum TRD Pro skid plate that has the oil filter door...

This is my planned route. Until then, I think I will be taking it to the dealer.

I think the RCI (steel) is less expensive than the trd and protects more of the under carriage. I love mine, it's not flimsy.

Great info, I considered RCI but I'm not sure how the steel would hold up in the North with all the salt and chemicals they treat the roads with up here. Powdercoated steel nerf bars rust pretty quick. I take off my steel Iron Cross HD steps in winter to avoid the headache.

RCI also offers powdercoated aluminum but it's $390, the same ballpark as a TRD Pro skid plate. I haven't seen the two side by side, I would love to see the comparison.

RIDET4R 5% OFF coupon for RCI OFF ROAD.
Just bought the steel front skid with oil filter hole for $275 shipped w/C Code.
Not much but it helped. Labor day was 15% off but I didn't have a Tundra in September.
