Hey guys, those are some nice lights! Does anyone know how to wire the puddle lights to say on for more than 10 seconds?

SABM, TRD sway bar, interior LED swap, Husky's in front and WeatherTech in the back, TRD Pro Grill, Rigid Fod lights, Rigid 40" E-series, Rigid 32" hood light, BLHM with RX350/STI projectors, 4% tint, 50% windshield.
The best way would be to wire them up to Dome lights.

    Update**

I was on techstream the other week and found a setting for lighting that was set at 7.5 seconds. I changed that to 30 seconds and didn't get a chance to test it until tonight. Low and behold, when I unlock my truck with the fob, the courtesy lamps now stay on for 30 seconds!!!

So if you have access to techstream you can change the time these lamps stay on to 30 seconds!

Software loaded on a laptop to turn settings on/off on the tundra. You would need the software and the cable.

Finally got around to changing mine too! Much better now. Also turned off the seat belt chimes on both driver and passenger seats.

When my truck was in for the service, I asked tech to change the timing on lights and he've done it at no cost. Love it.

Well both the freebies that came with my puddle lights shit the bed. I switched them out with some vled ones which seem to working fine.

Just so everyone is clear, I'm talking about the license plate lights, the puddle lights are working beautifully.

There is a BIG difference in light after going to LEDs for the puddle lights and now that I changed the duration, they actually help light the door areas. I didn't use the license plate lights - not worried if someone can see the plate better o_O

Yes they seem to be cheaper lights for the free license plate bulbs. I didnt use it either. The puddle lamps work like a champ tho!

I'm wondering if the trucks already have the wiring harness for the courtesy lights. I doubt that Toyota would make multiple harnesses four the different trims. If the wiring is there this mod would be easy. Can't wait to pick mine up to start checking things out.

Usually when that's the case there's a removable blank piece In it's place that has a place where then wires just sit. From what I've been reading here people are saying you can see an outline of where it's supposed to be but idk I've never looked at another tundra that close.

I'm new to the Tundra but when reading about swapping regular mirrors to tow mirrors, if I read correctly it's plug and play even the power fold option could be added if I recall. So perhaps this would apply for the courtesy lights minus having to cut the piece out. Just an assumption though. Same concept for my current vehicle. I Added some OEM accessories after purchase and all the connectors and wires were already present tucked away.

In my Platinum the puddle lights turn on when I hit the unlock on my remote. It tosses a nice little light on the step for my bride at night when getting in my truck.

I do not know if you can retro fit these to a gen 2, my SWAG leans towards probably no.
