Glad it worked out for you man, I would've done the same thing in your position but hard to find a good deal like that around here. Now I can finally say this....

I hope your exhaust doesn’t smell like rotten eggs

I had a truck with the cats removed one time and nobody wanted to ride in it or be around it because it stunk bad lol

Hey everyone! Just giving everyone a quick update. Here are some pictures after I washed it a couple weeks ago. While the truck has a little surface rust on it, majority of the stuff from the older pictures was just caked on mud. About 80% of it just cleaned off. It’s amazing what a nice wash can do haha. I LOVE this thing. It’s been nothing short of an amazing, fun work truck for me. I’ve done some minor work to it such as adding a pioneer head unit, new tires(have to install still) and regular maintenance. The paint/body needs some work, I’ll be getting that done soon. All in all, I’m super satisfied with the purchase. Can’t believe I got this thing for what I paid. Thanks for everyone help!

I like how everyone was hating on the antenna in the door on your first few posts... but common sense tells me that this was done to keep it from beating the truck while being trailored.... yes... more common sense would say just remove it but this doesn't damage anything as a one time deal. Glad that this worked out for you OP... it's a good looking truck. I would have pulled the trigger on it for that price too

Late to the party, but the easiest way to identify a vehicle that's been flooded is to check under the carpets. Unless someone knows to clean it there will be a lot of fine silt covering the floorpan under the carpet and padding.

I grew up in Southeast Texas not far from the coast. I don't think that every county in Texas requires an emmisions check, but I may be wrong on that one.

As far as issues with Texas trucks are concerned you can drive on most beaches in Texas so trucks near the coast can get a lot of rust from sea water and a lot sand in the undercarriage.

A lot of the state also has sandy soil kind of like Florida, especially near rivers and creeks.

That one has definitely done some mud bogging, but I would expect more rust if it spent much time at the beach.

Change the fluids in the differentials and transmission and pay attention for abnormal transmission behavior to catch any problems early. It's possible that you never have any problems with it though.

Nice! We both have the same dent in the same door! 08 5.7 crewmax here. Paid 12,000. I have i suppose a crack in my bumper as well that the old owner taped. I will get around to it. Looks great, awesome deal!

What I noticed when looking for a used Tundra is the outside lower part of the driver's seat gets worn. I'm not sure if it's just fat people (sorry not really PC) sliding in and out of the truck or what. Yours looks in real good shape. Depending on what shape the paint is in I think I would look into getting it wrapped.
