Just got an email from my usual service dealer about the Gen8 map update, they are asking $169 + tax and "install"

Any opinions or insight about the update, functionality, price, etc?

I think that us as owners of a Toyota product, we shouldn't have to pay for this "upgrade". We all have paid a good price for our Tundra's, so why not give it to us for free???

Agreed, especially when you can get an 'all singing, all dancing' Garmin with lifetime map updates for around $250

I got the same email. That's a joke, the navigation on my 15 sucks anyway so I can't imagine the update will suddenly make it so much better. I wouldn't pay $20 for it.
I'd rather buy an adapter to mirror my phone google maps nav on the screen for that price.

I'd only get it if it updated Toyota's terrible UI. Which I doubt it will. Love everything else about the truck though.

I've seen them by beatsonic USA for $250. IPhone and Android available. I'm sure other people make them too
