So I had previously replaced my OEM mirrors with this set of tow mirrors:
Toyota Tundra Driver/Passenger Side Replacement Mirror Set with Turn Signal and Dual Glass

When I did so, I gained the clearance lights and turn signals on my 2017 SR5. Only thing I didn't like is the field of view was not even as good as the OEM, non-tow mirrors. Blind-spot mirror was okay, but wasn't real thrilled with it, either.

Fast forward a bit, and I just bought and installed these tow mirrors:
Toyota Tundra Truck Towing Mirrors fit 2007-2015 Toyota Tundra Truck with Power Control Heated Manual Telescoping Folding Lens Turn Signal Lens and Auxiliary Light

I know they say only for 2007-2015, but I was under the impression mirrors for a 15 would work on a 17, which they do fit fine. Only issue is the clearance lights don't work. The turn signals in the mirror work, I just don't have clearance lights on the front of the mirror. I knew I would have to wire the "backup" lights on them, but I really didn't care about those so I wasn't concerned about it.

My question is this - is the wiring pin-out different on a 2015 than it is on a 2017? I actually have one extra wire on the harness for the newer mirrors than I did on the first set I bought, all the rest are the same. By all accounts, it seems to me it should work. I find it hard to believe both mirrors would have faulty lights/wiring for the clearance lamps, so it's got to be something in how it's wired.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I haven't driven with them yet, but the field of vision seems to be way better, so even if I can't get the clearance lights to work, I'll likely still keep them.

I had to wire in the driving light on my OEM power folding tow mirrors, the 2nd gen platinums lacked it. I had no doubt which one it was as it was the only wire missing from the harness. Tapped into my DRL lights and ran it to the harness and it worked. Heres the write up...https://www.tundras.com/threads/diy...o-oem-toyota-power-folding-tow-mirrors.42865/

Thanks for the tip, but my SR5 already has that wire, so it's got to be something else. Mine has wires on 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 18. The first tow mirrors were the same, but no 9 wire, and clearance lights worked. If I remember correctly from a wire map I found earlier, 3 (-) and 18 (+) are for clearance.

EDIT: 3 and 9 are supposedly clearance, 18 shows for memory, so not sure why the first mirrors had them working since there was no 9 wire

Sounds like you need to break out the volt meter and make sure the proper pin or wire is getting power when you turn on your lights. Then. .. look at the wiring diagram that came with the mirrors and make sure the pins are in the correct position for your truck. I've read before on here between different years or trim level the wire is not in the same place on the pins/ connectors... willing to bet this is the issue

I put a set of these on for a customer on his Silverado. His had problems with the lighting as well. I can't recall which one it was, it was either clearance or signal, we could not get one of them to work.
