@Beau if the color change makes your eyes go crazy why did you not go with HIDs for the low beam? Or at least some cheap high wattage 6000k (blue painted) painted halogens?

I've got the racing vision lights which are some of the colder color halogens produced, while still maintaining some level of brightness although still not close to LED or HIDs. As far as the "why not get HIDs", I'm scared about condensation issues since I have only heard about issues from those that have modified their dust covers to accommodate HIDs and LEDs.

@Beau I hear you, I wouldn’t want condensation issues either! I had some some 80 watt cheap halogens before that were pretty close to LED, but your right they are not quite the same as LED.

I had these but one burned out after about a year.

    https://www.amazon.com/CIPA-93443-F...eywords=evo+formance+h4&qid=1580438073&sr=8-1

They did have a little too much scatter in their beam pattern in stock housings, but your projectors would probably correct that. Then I tried these

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MULV7LM?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

These lasted another year or so and had one burn out. That is why I finally took a chance on the new LED headlights cause removing the entire grill to swap bulbs is just a pain and such a dumb design! Hopefully these last at least a few years.

I received these yesterday but there is no wiring diagram or information on how to wire the harness. Did you receive any instructions or did you just figure the wiring out on your own? I need some help. Lights look great in the box but would look better installed.

@isuweller i went to the alpharex website and they had an article on how to install the drl harness. Basically you need a low profile fuse tap with 10 amp fuse. In the fuse box there is a 10 amp fuse that is labeled “ign”. Remove the fuse and put the fuse tap in that slot. Then attach the brown wire to it from the drl harness. Red wire goes to the positive battery terminal and black to negative terminal. Then the shot side plugs into the small wire coming out of the light and then run the longer line to the passenger side light small little wire. All other plugs fit into the stock light plugs. I will try and find the link from alpharex.

@bft305 Thanks for your help! I decided to purchase these lights 100% based on this thread and successfully got them installed tonight. It was very easy once I read your explanation, so thank you! These lights look great! 20200205_214622.jpg 20200204_214015.jpg

@isuweller they look great on your truck! Hopefully long term reliability is good for both of us! So far no moisture or led issues here!

If you shop around for used parts you can get OEM 18+ LED’s for around that price. I got my used TRD sport lights for around $310 total. I trust factory lights way more personally. Those AlphaRex lights look great though.

Was this from Ebay, or another avenue?

I bought mine after seeing the reviews from the above comments. I feel like my light pattern is alll over the place, but this is my first time dealing with LED’s. Here’s the link to the ones I purchased: https://www.protuninglab.com/pro-jh-ttu14-lb-c.html

Please tell me what you think.

Doesnt look bad. Are they able to adjust the same as oem? Stick a phillips screw driver down in there and turn the adjustment gear. Raise the passenger beam height (or lower the driver side). They dont always come preset at the right height.

cant tell if thats scatter in first photo, or if its just reflections of light from you being so close to the building.

You need to adjust them. They are way off. Pull up real close to a flat wall. Make a plus sign in tape in the center of the light pattern. Pull back 20-25ft and adjust until the centers are back at the tape. It takes a while to adjust and to figure out which way they are moving, but they will go.

I agree with the others. The beam pattern looks good, just WAY out of adjustment.

I agree, just look on YouTube for a video about how to aim headlights. You will need tape and a tape measure and a flat wall. As mentioned you can use a Phillips screwdriver to reach down to the adjustment screw and adjust the beam. If I remember right clockwise raises and counter clockwise lowers.

@bft305 how long did it take for you to receive your lights after placing the order? I have the factory halogens w/ the amber DRL, so if I got the same set as you all I'd need to buy is the fuse tap for the DRL harness & the rest is plug and play, correct?

If I do the amber DRL delete it will still function as my blinker, right?

@Noojen it took about a week for me to get my lights. The company is out of CA and I am in ME. Yes all you will need is a low profile mini fuse tap (I got one off Amazon with a 10amp fuse and it has been working great). I am not sure on the amber drl delete, didn’t look into that.

So are the high and low beam both LED or just the low beam? For half the price of the Mornimotos these look great.
