Experienced carpenter. Finally got myself with the 1 in a million shot. 2 inch brad nail with an entrance and exit hole in my thumb nail.
Was nailing some wooden window build outs, on a big gable end, using some mdf backers. Fired a few nails and one deflected and got my thumb 5/6 inches away.
Had glue on a few pieces so i finished up my board, climbed down the scaf and let everyone take a photo. :hattip:
It hurts less than my pride. But it hurts

Yeah, I had similar thing happen years ago. For some reason when I was cutting some meat, I had a cleaver style knife that I reared up and came down on, intending to cut the meat.
I proceeded to shear off half my finger nail starting at the middle of the nail bed. Probably was good the knife was sharp, as it was a clean cut o_O
Hurt like a MoFo and off to ER. Not a whole lot to do, other than Neosporin and band-aid after soaking in betadine. Couldn't type for a few days until the bed could dry out and took a few weeks for the nail to grow over.
I have since taken every possible precaution to never do that nor cut/damage my fingers!

Cut it flush and pull it through the exit hole, wrap it up and you're good to go. Get the T shot, and have a beer. Good luck!

Well it won’t be as bad as what I recently and am still dealing with. Maybe I will post about it. Monet, what do you think?

T shot was a breeze when all you can feel is a nail in your thumb. Doctor pulled it quick and OMG. he did good to get that over with quick. Saves having to freeze it. Just an xray, throw a bandaid on and im heading back to work.

I was hoping to add a gif of the wax scene from 40 year old virgin. That was the reality of it getting pulled. Lol. Basically all set just checking if it hit the bone and i need antibiotics. Glad to brighten some peoples hump day. Stay safe!

Eww, that's a good one. I once fired a hurricane strap nail into my chest if it makes you feel any better.

Was drilling a hole in a carburetor arm to add a choke (Yep, I worked on some old trucks in my day)

And i slipped off and it went through my finger.

Never, ever try and back a drill bit out using the reverse.

It was the most pain I ever dealt with in my life and I was shot once (That really didnt hurt at all)

I knocked myself out during auto mechanics class in high school. I was using a cylinder hone on a 350 block and went down too far and hit the crankshaft journal. The stones stopped, but the drill kept turning and hit me right in the forehead.....knocked my ass out cold....lol.
