I'm one of those "long time listeners, first time callers." I've been stalking topics over the past year or so as I prepared to tackle a few little projects of my own. I picked up a 2013 4.6 Dbl Cab SR5 about a year and a half ago with under 35k miles, and have been in love since. Thanks to the wealth of knowledge on this site that's available under multiple different threads, I started making things happen these past few months without being one of those people asking the same question that's been answered 100 times already.

I started off with a full body lift, OME 2.5" leaf springs, with OME rear shocks matched with Rancho Quicklift struts in the front. I paired that setup with some 275/70 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's, and Vision Nemesis black on black 18x9 wheels that I just threw on today. First off, I can't say enough about Discount Tire Direct that hasn't already been said. The wheels/tires came perfectly balanced. I threw them on myself, and there's not a single wobble up to 80mph. Now, the tires are as others have described - absolute quality, and a beauty to look at - especially with the wider rim that gives the truck a more aggressive stance. I've had the AT3's on an F-150 and liked the performance, but the sidewall was just boring. These aren't the case. I opted to have the RWL out, because I think it breaks up the black wheels, along with the black cap quite well. I've never been one to have the white lettering out, but I like the RWL look over the OWL.

I went with 275/70 thanks to all the reading I did on here, the winter rating in that size and the fact that I have to park in a public garage on a daily basis, and as it is- I barely fit. They do still manage to rub a bit on the front mud flaps at full turn, but no biggie.

Just want to pass along a big thanks to everyone who has posted on the topics that helped me make these recent decisions, and I look forward to continuing the journey on here. I'm an avid hunter, fly-fisherman, boater and explorer here in Maine, and would eventually like to turn this buggy into a nice weekender, with sleeping quarters, additional storage, etc. Looking forward to learning from others as I start tackling these other projects.

    -Chris

Welcome from WI. The more XLT's I see with the white letters out, the more I wish I would have put mine out. Good lookin' truck!

I was on the fence hard, but decided to give it a whirl. They definitely add a little flavor!
