Several threads on this subject already :)

I bought my fortin Evo one from Anderson electronics eBay store. A year later I had a problem where the settings somehow got deleted and I didn't have the $70 flash tool to reload it.

I contacted Anderson electronics, mailed the unit to be repaired and they turned it around same day and didn't want my money for return shipping.

From my personal experience I recommend AE.

I bought the Fortin system with the MyCar module from @james@tech12volts over a year ago. Easy install, great price, no issues.

Edit: Wanted to add that the MyCar system lets you start/stop, lock/unlock your car anywhere you and your car/truck have mobile service. 2 way communication for confirmation, and has GPS location to find your car/truck

I enjoy my Compustar. I had an audio shop install for $400.
While there are great kits on the forum.
I wanted the 1 mile range with 2-way confirmation of lock and start.
Working at a factory, I can start my truck in the farthest spot in the parking from my desk.
What is your criteria for Best?
    Cost?
    Quality?
    DIY vs installed?
    features?
    Range?

    Yes!
Does the compustar work with a traditional key? ...As this is what my truck has...not the smart key start.

Ive had Viper and Compustar - currently running Compustar.

Viper - had it installed 4 years on my previous Tundra without issues.

Compustar - Going on my 2nd year and had a 2nd unit installed because the 1st unit crapped out after 10 months.
Getting a replacement unit was a nightmare. 2 months after install, the fobs lost connection and had to reprogram them.

    YMMV...

I went with https://www.12volt.solutions/ 100% plug and play and stays on when the doors opened as long as you don't have a push button start.

I bought mine from the same seller as well. Great communication. I purchased another Fortin from them for my other vehicle as well.

I had the dealer install drone mobile when I purchased new. I love the unlimitted range and not having to carry an extra key fob.

Compustar 2-way is really nice. Like others, I can start from pretty damn far away and get 2-way feedback that it's started. The Compustar 4-button remote (2WG15R-FM) I have works with a G key (that's the engraving on your key).

My wife's Viper is the budget model, 1-way, but has worked very well.

I went with Tech12Volts. Added Module to start from my phone. I am assuming they are all same, just whenever you find best deal.

I got a compustar csx with lte (dronemobile) and the remote has 3000ft range. I’ve been using it for a few months and its been working as described. Dronemobile requires subscription but the remote start will still work even without the said subscription.

just make sure if you get a remote that uses an app, the module is NOT a 3G version since all 3G service ends on 31-dec-2020
