Anyone have experience with various sizes? I plan to get 2 - 2g or a 4 gallon rotopax. Is the 4 gallon cumbersome and a PITA? I am planning mainly for my boat on road trips..but would come in handy out in the bush too. The 4g looks a little odd handle.

You might want to consider a regular 5 gal old school jerry can and the mount for it. Definitely a proven design, the military still uses it and those trucks are apt to operate in much harsher environments then your Tundra ever will.

I love mine. I have a 2gal water and a 2gal fuel on the RZR, then a 4 gal in the Tundra just for an oh shit moment. Had them for over 2 years and none of them have ever leaked.

Spend 1/4 the price and get something with more capacity and not some weird awkward overlander mallcrawler blingy stuff that takes 5 days to pour due to the California nozzle.

Totally not worth it and they suck at pouring. Just use a a racing fuel jug or a normal jerry can.

Damn, am i the only one with one that pours just fine? I have the 3 gallon one. Biggest complaint is too much flex in plastic. Needs vented way to much in my opinion. Otherwise its held up great so far. Just under a year of use.

I never got to experience using it because the rotopax mount and lock were awful to deal with.

I failed to mention, this is to keep on my roof rack. I have a classic 5 gallon fuel jug now. I just have to move it all over the place in my bed (always in the way). I’m not excited about daily venting on a trip either.

I’ve seen your truck over time and what you’ve done to it is awesome.

I had 2x 2-gallon fuel cans as well as 1x 2-gallon water and 1x storage container all deal together with the upgraded metal clips. I liked having the 2x 2-gallon vs the 4-gallon as I was able to judge quantity better; use two gallons or use all four gallons.
I built fiberglass mounts for the Rotopax on my Tacoma and thought they were an awesome purchase until the lock cores seized up - due to cheap steel internals - and I couldn't get the fuel cans off when I needed them. The same thing happened to the lock cores holding the storage can... I couldn't get to any of my shackles until I drilled the lock cores out.
Rotopax replaced my lock cores twice before I stopped relying on them to work. I just removed the lock handle and hoped no one would steal my stuff.
As far as the cans themselves, they were ok. They were convenient at times but two of my locking pour spouts broke; the 'lock' twist/slide spring broke off.
I'd still considering buying them again if they worked out the bugs.

I had 2 of the 2 gallon models, the seam on one ended up with a small crack in it and leaked all over.
They replaced it, so good customer service.
I just didn’t like the spouts, they never seemed to seal well.
I damaged a gasket on one, so you have to be somewhat careful when tightening it up.
The other thing that I didn’t like is how the spout was designed, being inverted and in the gas means when you need to use you have to pull it out of the gas and turn it around, plan on smelling like gas if you need to fill anything up.

I went back to a 5 gallon Tuff Jug.
