Finished installing my new headlight today. I was using the stock headlights with high wattage bulbs but every year or so I had to keep replacing bulbs. So finally found a deal for some new style LED headlights from Alpharex for $300. Figured for that price you can go wrong and I would take a chance! Anyways, they seem well sealed and the fitment was not bad. One did have a little solder in the very corner which kind of sucks, might have to open them up to get it out, but for $300 I will let it slide. Very easy to hook up, hardest part was wiring up the drl harness which is not challenging at all. Still have to adjust a little bit, but so far I am impressed! We will see about condensation and hazing (though I did put some meguirs synthetic sealant on to protect them. I know most go for the projectors but I like the OEM look and the light output is great compare to the halogens, though not as good as projectors I imagine. Here are some pics! The driving one is low beams and from my iPhone so a little blurry, will try to get better ones later.

Where did you get these? They don't look like alpharex, but look great. Is the low beam LED?

I got them at Protuninglab.com and they didn’t say Alpharex on the site but when they arrived the box said Alpharex and it says it on the headlight where it says DOT approved. I got the glossy black version they sell. Didn’t hear great things about Protuninglab.com but for the price too a gamble and had not issues. Also yes the low beam is LED.

Can you link the exact lights please? For a LED low beam at $300, it is definitely worth the gamble. I saw that they were stamped alpharex, but have never seen a model by alpharex that look like them. :monocle:

I did try looking for them on the alpharex website and couldn’t find them, but took a chance and so far can say I am glad I did.

Looks to me like you got a steal, I'm still not sure exactly what they are, but they seem to be equivalent to the NOVA model without the spider eye look. BTW, the Novas are $980. Do these have headlight motors?

The Alpharex Pro doesn't come with LEDs, you have to install them. They do however come with permanent led high beams . The Nova's come with Quad LEDs for low beam and LEDs for high beams. Both are permanent.

Right, I have the pro model in my sequoia. This looks like a modified version of the Novas with the built in low beam LEDs.

Like I said, I'm not sure what these are but I think you got a great deal and if I had a 3rd Gen Tundra they would be in my checkout cart right now.

Ya I felt I couldn’t go wrong at that price so I went for it and figured I would share! Most are double the price if not more, will see how they last and keep everyone updated!

I can't figure it out. By all accounts, it looks like a modified NOVA model like this. Definitely to the Pro model.

I will look tomorrow for a number on the headlights. 16 blue- if you have led DRLs you need a harness. I just had normal amber drl lights and didn’t need a different harness. It comes with one to run the drl LED light bars with the headlights off.

Ya couldn’t figure it out myself but took the chance and so far happy I did! It is a true LED like the NOVAs except the amber turn signal but that is easy to convert to led. Side marker is led too.

There is an extra harness that you use (included with the alpharex lights) to tap into the "ignition" fuse which will energize the DRL when the engine is on.

The Alpharex pros don't come with permanent leds, you have to install them. So I'm wondering what's up with these headlights. To get them for $300 with leveling motor's is a great grab. What's this modified Nova you speak of

Agreed. I can sleep now knowing they are only for the 3rd gen after just buying the Pro’s. Those are my favorite yet.

I didn't know one existed....just my guess. They clearly say Alpharex on the lens from the pics.....it's a mystery. Great post OP:)

Edit: I sent alpharex a FB message to see if they could shed some light on this.

Response from Alpharex: "We assembled these headlight for a customer as OEM/ODM project and they had use our lens and back housing with their own design reflector"

Beau- That is interesting news from alpharex. Interesting that they come in alpharex boxes. Though Protuninglab didn’t say they were alpharex in the description. Oh well for the money I took a chance. I was thinking about retrofitting my stock ones anyways to have as backups.

How difficult is it modify to use when your existing light has the DRL?

Can you see how many bulbs the low beam has? Is it just one with a reflector, or multiple bulbs? Alpharex commented back again and said that these are alpharex housings with the “other company’s” bulbs. How bright is the DRL tube during the day? I found some 07-13 ones that look identical that I may try.
