Loved it. Played the game (Witcher 3) and listened to the first 4 audio books. Anyone else watch it yet? What did you think?

That show sucks! IMO. Struggled to make it up to episode 3. Dialogue and script was like a teen wrote it. Show had plenty of potential to be awesome

Really? It definitely did a really bad job at telling what was going on. They swapped over to different timelines super quick without any notice. I came into it knowing the back story and such so it was much easier to understand, it's possible that people unfamiliar with the stories can get super lost. I wish they would of just put a damn subtitle date or something on each scene haha...

Fell in love at episode 3. The first two are kinda hard to get but 3 up and it was riveting.

I actually enjoyed what they where doing with the timeline once I caught on. Its a twist in its own right. You are SUPPOSED to be confused so you can have an 'ah ha!' moment when you figure it out.

Also as someone who spent a quarter of his life practicing medieval combat I enjoy its take on sword fighting. Not realistic per se but at least much better than the usual.

Fair enough, if you stick with it. A lot of people just stop watching when they get lost though

Their loss. Complex stores require an audience willing to put a little work in. I'm glad that not everything is dumbed down yet.

I like it. I don’t watch much in the way of TV but this looked neat and it’s pretty enjoyable for the 10 or 15 minutes I get to watch it at a time. I wasn’t expecting much from the story but the camera work and aptmosphere are nice and the “hero” seems to have a good moral compass.

I have the audio book of first witcher and wasn't pulled into it so have not finished it. I also have witcher 3 on my xbox and played a bit but wasn't feeling it either.

I'm henry cavill fan. And fantasy fan. So I was hoping it would be something great.

Its entertaining but not enough for me to be eagerly awaiting next season.

Sometimes the timeline is confusing. The cgi is lacking sometimes. The writing is so so.

I enjoyed it enough but nothing to rave about sadly.

One thing I will say is it does a good job of potraying it like game. He has bigger picture storyline but does side quest. I did like that.

I watched the first episode and it was pretty good. Cavill does a great job capturing the character, especially the voice. I put probably 150 hours or more into The Witcher 3, and loved the game. It likely helps a lot that I’m familiar with the story.

That said, it’s going to be one that takes me a while to get through. The nudity and sex make it where I can’t watch it when my kids are around.

I binged watched it for a few days and I enjoyed watching it, but it took a while for me to understand the timeline. They should have had a caption to make it better. Especially for guys like me who did not even realized that that was based on a video game till I read it on this post.

Three video games. I’ve only played the newest one and never read any of the books though.

I won't be playing nor reading. I'm just going to wait for the next season to come out.

    Lost track after #1.
Never played the games nor read the books, but this first season was interesting. The timeline jump kinda threw me for a bit as well. The sets are pretty amazing. Lots of gratuitous boobs too, so +1 for that.

i've been watching it. yes, it could be a bit better but it's a decent brain drain. the bard character makes me laugh. episode 4 totally threw me until about the last 10 minutes when i figured out what the hell was going on with the timelines. curious how it all comes together.

My girlfriend and I are watching. To be honest I'm not sure what's kept us going. It's like barely charming enough to keep watching, we just finished episode 5 last night where the timeline was "confirmed" (though we had been suspicious of it). That alone was a big pay off, because up until this point we had literally NO IDEA what was going on or how anything related to anything. And to be fair, we still have no idea. I never read the books or played the games, so people having the weirdest names, talking weird, no explanation of the different kingdoms, or who has what powers, or who does what, etc. has made it really hard to follow. The first episodes we just watched hoping for some cool action scenes and Cavill being an animal since there was a lot of hype for how in shape he got and the stuntwork.

Came into it not knowing anything about the backstory. Super confusing to follow but I still liked it. Binged it in two days...god damnit.

Thought it was great and didn’t know anything about it. Took me a bit to figure out the timeline. Also, watched a YouTube summary that tied all the dots together and filled in some gaps in about 12 minutes. Can’t wait for S2.

I knew absolutely nothing about it and I really liked it. It did throw me off a bit when it skips back and forth in time and I didn't realize it at first. But otherwise I'm enjoying it and almost finished with the first season.

I also didn't know it was a book and video game series. I was thinking about watching it, but after all the comments on how confusing it is................maybe not.

I kinda agree.. I prefer Witch 3 game, story and his skills. Sorry, though I don't blame Cavill.
