So I bought a 20 CM TRD Limited in Dec, came with 20" wheel package, but TRD package as I understand it replaced them with 18" package which is what came on my truck, which I prefer anyway. Not sure how I can tell if I was charged for both sets of wheels/tires or the price of the 20's was actually deducted from the price of the truck? I never would have thought about until I watched a YouTube video explaining how some dealers get away with it unless someone asks specifically about the difference in price. He went on to explain that you paid for both sets of wheels and only got one? anyone ever hear about this?

No, the Trd package replaces the 20’s

If Toyota did that, they would be facing lawsuits.

In reality, you probably did pay for both. I doubt they itemize the costs of a limited upgrades vs an SR5. The price of the limited included the price of those upgraded rims. You then added the TRD offroad package which included the price of the rims for the trd package. Look to see if the TRD package costs the same between an sr5 and a limited. If it costs the same, then yes you are paying for both.

I wonder which wheel costs more? Limited 20” or TRD 18”

The video is probably talking about when a dealership will add their own custom wheels to a truck after it is already on their lot. Your truck came straight from Toyota with the 18s.

I always wondered if the trucks came this way from the factory or were prepped at the dealer

Doubtful you paid for both sets as the TRD package upgrade (Limited models) is only $195 . That probably covers skid plates/decals/black trim around headlights/TRD rubber floor mats/upgraded shocks/etc

Totally agree with you. The sticker mentions upgrading from the standard 20” to the TRD 18”. If your dealership tacked on another aftermarket set of wheels that’s not mentioned anywhere that it’s an upgrade or replaces the Toyota wheels, then you are entitled to both the Toyota wheels and the aftermarket.
