No rubbing at all and I have taken it offroad mildly. You could probably go with 295/70/18 Ridge Grapplers as they are only .33" taller but have an additional 9.5 lbs in weight per Nitto's website.

Great question.. We build shims for quite a few different applications and originally used our standard .50" on the PRO's and would just use 2 per side. this provided us with 1.00" of additional lift. This was back in early 2015 after outfitting quite a few PRO's we felt it was worth designing and building a shim specifically for the PRO coilover. ( Still providing the same amount of lift .. 1.00" ) Our 1.00" shim kit is standard in our Coachbuilder TRD Pro kit... it just looks cleaner with one shim.

On applications using a Bilstein 5100/6112 up front or even a adjustable coilover we want to set the preload identical on each side. We know where the weight sits on the Tundra and know it needs correction on the front left ( Driver ) corner. so for these applications we normally use 2 of our .50" shims on the driver side and 1 on the passenger side. This levels the truck out side to side and provides a equally plush ride in the driver seat and passenger seat rather than preloading the driver side coilover to correct the lean. Little things we have done over the years in order to fine tune the weight and stance on the vehicle.

Hope this helps clear up your question.

Let me know if you have any questions and will glady go over in better detail. The PRO is def a unique truck and felt it was worth going as extreme as possible all while keeping the factory suspension with in its comfortable limits. Rather than space the OE suspension out and remove the crossmember just to add lift we took quite a different approach. No modification of anything on the truck and the entire system is a clean bolt on.. Measuring distortion as the suspension cycled and watching how geometry varies at different points in the cycling pivot we felt we could improve on what we already had. So if you feel your PRO drives the best it possible can in factory form you'll be pleasantly surprised after installing the Coachbuilder Kit. :)

that’s exactly what I needed to know, so 1 shim per side gives you 1inch of lift and that’s what comes in the kit. Didn’t know if I would need to add another set of shims if they only gave a half inch each. Thanks for clearing it up

I got my 2019 stock with 295/70/18 Nitto ridge grapplers and I love it but.... I’m going to order this! Love the way it looks! One thing I have an issue with is towing... the sag is crazy. I only tow sleds/quads and my light boat but will be getting a larger one soon, does this help with the sag? Was looking at getting Firestone ride rites with the day star cradles, would this work together if I needed it down the road? I think the coachbuilder kit would be all I need for now but just wondering if the air bags will work with it still

Just my two cents and maybe @Coachbuilder1 can weigh in but I would much rather have a heavier duty leaf spring to offset weight with the coachbuilder setup than an airbag setup. Much less hassle and way more durable.

Hi…..I am new to forum and this thread was recommended. Great info. My Coachbuilder TRD Pro Kit (shims, shackles, etc.) for my 2016 Tundra TRD Pro just arrived. I also purchased the Bora 1.25” wheel spacers, as I am staying with my OEM Pro rims for now. Regarding the tire size, I am going with BFG KO2’s, and leaning towards the 35x12.50’s over a 305/65. I have seen a couple Pro’s locally with the Kit and 35x12.50’s. I love the look, and David says they will fit just fine…..just need to remove the front mud flaps. Looks like several on this thread have this setup as well.

I would love some input from anyone who has the same kit and tires for some feedback on clearance, etc. Is a BMC recommended? Anything else I should be planning for? Thanks.

I will post another picture once the kit is installed and new LED headlights added.

I put everything on this weekend.....CB kit (1" Shims on each side and +3 Shackles), 35x12.50 KO2's, LED lights. It rides great, looks great and no rubbing. The only issue I can notice is the driver side seems to be lower than the passenger side? I measured it out a few times, and it appears to almost be an inch difference? I did notice a couple comments in this thread with some having the issue and others not? Feedback is appreciated.

Got my Pro kit in and getting ready to do the install. I keep reading about an indentation that is cut into the shim to align it. No slots cut in mine. Looks like a straight forward install but am I missing anything or is there anything I should know before I am all in.
Thanks for your help in advance

Do you have to compress the springs and take the tophats off for the fronts? Or do they go on top?

I had the same issue. After a few weeks it somehow leveled out more. But mine wasn’t an inch off.

Shims go right on top. They did not adjust anything.

This is what it looks like from the front right now.

Toyota Dealership is telling me the Driver side strut has been adjusted up (base or perch ring of the coilover spring moved up). The mechanic (who does lots of lifts on new Tundras there) is telling me that this is the cause as there is less tension and therefore is sitting lower? Anyways, I plan to question him directly for further explanation...not computing right now. While I am learning, I am not a novice on truck suspensions. I can tell you the higher Passenger side is certainly different when I look at that same base/perch. I also looked under 3 TRD Pros on the lot, and both sides were exactly identical (like passenger side on mine). However, I looked at my old brochure from 2016, and the picture of the strut /coilover is identical to my driver side (appears to be "adjusted up") I have not adjusted mine (never touched them), so I have to think my TRD Pro came that way. Still confused.....see attached pictures with comparison of each strut/coilover if you care to opine further. Trying to be smart about his before I get too much further down the road. Thanks!

Not sure these help.....but at least some updated pictures after CB kit and lights put on. Again, other than left driver side sag, tires fit great, look great, no rubbing.

Just to touch base on all the basics. You didn’t remove the coil overs completely correct? The driver side coilover is set with more preload out of the factory to compensate for the heavier weight on the driver side. If they were put on the opposite side you would have this issue. Did you loosen the UCA bolts and then retighten them after install?

My 2020 Pro has a 1/2 in lean on the drivers side. I've measured and measured, David @ Coachbuilder says it shouldn't, but it surely does.

So, I'm putting a shim in there to level it out.

Waiting to find time for the install can’t wait. I have made a decision to go with BFG KM3s on stock pro wheels just don’t know if I want 295/70/18 or 35x12.5x18
Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

Which one is cheaper?....That's what would get my vote. Staying on the stock rim (which I totally agree with) will limit most of the width difference, also something to consider, which one is lighter? this would also be a deciding factor for me as heavier= more stops at the gas pump...anyways just my .02

Price will not be a huge difference and looking at 16 lbs per corner.

As in 16lbs heavier a tire? that's a huge difference if so

Edit* especially when you factor in x 5, because you will need a new spare as well

The 35x12.5x18 BFG K02 is 69 lbs, and the 295/70/18 according to Nitto USA's site is 69.44 lbs. I know the KM3 is heavier, but the K02 is nearly the same weight as the Ridge Grappler 295/70/18. Still torn but leaning towards the BFG's. Loved them on my Tacoma
