looks very quiet. been on my list for a very long time. some day. hopefully.

 

kiddos have some auditions later this week and they both needed new headshots. roxy will have to wait until she gets home this summer.

camera geekery below for those who are interested...





3 lights, 2 alien bees DB800 and one DB400. grey paper background. back light (DB400) had a 30 degree grid to create the spot behind the head. key light (DB800) was camera right, silver beauty dish with 30 degree grid and diffused. hair light (DB800) camera left in the back and facing the key. it was a small strip box (10x36), double diffused and gridded with a blue gel. camera was ISO 100, f/4, 1/200 with an 85/1.2 lens.

 

Patagonia is like Bizarro world. Opposite seasons. Weird animals running around. Very windy. Monster Trout and few roads.

 

Nice work. I sold all my Bees and moved on to Godox lighting. Like your headshot style, similar to mine.

 

Fishing in Patagonia is on my bucket list, especially Jurassic Lake (Lago Strobel).

 

recent hike in rmnp. haven't been up there enough this winter. still shooting film these days. took the mamiya 645afd and a roll of kodak ektar 100. film was pushed 1 stop.











the last two have been chosen for a gallery showing in berlin this july. some of my surf work was also selected. wish i could get over to see the show but it's good to know that my pieces will be there.

this one was just added to the berlin gallery show this summer. that makes 5 pieces for me. i wish the show lined up with when i have to pick roxy up in moscow. i'd stop in berlin with her on the way home.

anyway, here's another from the archives.



spending a lot of time this week digging. gallery here in denver wants 10 pieces. big ones. trying some new printing styles and waiting for the tests to come back. going to give them 3 water pieces, 3 skies, 3 mountains and 1 massive panoramic.

i've got things narrowed down to 70 images of what i would consider 'fine art'. getting to 10 from there is difficult.

I did this one night while camping with the family and it was sofa king amazing.. I do it every time now.

It was a the Dillion Ice Castles in Dillion, CO.

 

i took a couple of hours this morning to wander around downtown. met some interesting people. collected some interesting stories. this is John the Baptist. he’s been spending his off work hours down on the Mall talking to people and buying food for the homeless. he will be on the mall helping whomever he can for as long as he can. i am going to street shoot and collect stories for as along as i can since we are in the middle of an unprecedented historical event.

street portraits from yesterday. fascinating to hear the stories about how business owners and employees are reacting. downtown is a ghost town. rough times are coming. if there are still small local businesses open in your area, please support them.

 

film from rmnp a couple of weeks ago. shot with a mamiya 645afd on kodak ektar pushed one stop but, it's still about a stop or two underexposed. i still think they work okay plus i like seeing the grain.
