That’s great news, glad it is getting fixed. That sounds exactly what my issue was, the bed isolaters were installed before the anti-corrosion was applied(I called it paint). Had to go out and climb around the bed just now, mines gone on its own. I do beat mine off road and suspect it would take a lot longer if not, and don’t blame you for wanting it fixed. Good luck!

I have 5,000 miles... same issue. Thought it was the Total Chaos bed braces until today. So do I go to the dealer or hope it goes away?

So basically the paint just has to wear off? Seems odd paint could cause this.

@treihing what dealership were you working with? I have a 2019 with minimal miles, I am in WA as well and I have a similar experience going on, which is frustrating but I am able to reproduce the issue. I'd like to talk to a dealership that already has an idea on what could potentially be happening and go from there.

I'd have PM'd you but you have super secret settings turned on so I am unable too.

    Thanks!

I don’t want to fiddle fuck with something that I have warranty on, this way I can document a potential issue. Also another member stated it wasn’t his leafs or sway bar and that Toyota might know of a defect with the bed or a component of the bed... I also don’t want to just bandaid an issue which is what hosing down the undercarriage with silicon, lithium grease or penetrating oil is, I’d prefer a proper resolution. Call me crazy o_O:der:

Could you explain where this is? I have some squeak when going over bumps that I'd like to try and diagnose.

It will seat and quiet down after some work and miles. Suspension also will get softer by 20k. At least mine did.

Sorry may not have phrased my question correctly, I'm wondering where exactly under the bed that location is, hard for me to tell from the picture with a reference of direction.

above rear shocks area/ sandwiched between frame and bed.
you can access it through the rear wheel well.

So I used some WD40 there and the sound was still there so I then used a Teflon lube on the leaf springs as well as dropping the spare tire and making sure it was good and tight. Sound is still there driving me crazy. I took a video, it sounds like a cricket chirping on the slightest bumps. Next thing I'm going to try is putting some bags of rocks or cement in the bed and see if it helps.

Update: putting a load in the bed had no effect.

Update 2: This sound was caused by the latches on my caps rear window

Well at least I'm not alone. I can only hear it when I have the back window down but since I travel with my dogs a lot I have it down a lot. I gotta have someone drive while I ride in the back or watch while it goes over a bump and try to narrow it down. It sounds like something easily fixed with a squirt of lube.

can you have someone in the bed and walk around to try to pinpoint where it squeaks ?

It doesn't do it when the truck is stationary no matter how much you jump around or rock it. Only happens when you go over a bump.

are you sure it comes from the rear and not the front then ?
when my bed was creaking, we could reproduce it by just jumping around while parked.

I'm not 100% since I have only heard it while driving but I can only hear it when the rear window is down and I hear it when the rear end goes over bumps, I replicated it in my driveway going over a bag of stone with the rear passenger wheel. Going to have to wait til I can get someone to drive it over something while I'm outside of it to pin point it I guess.

Have you ruled out spare tire rubbing? Maybe tighten up?

Great idea removing to test, too easy a solution to not rule out. Can always figure out a solution like padding if it’s the tire. Best of luck.
