I can get on board with the hoppier ones!
I usually start my beer tours with an IPA.

Ant probably sent you some hoppy ones. West Coast IPA was too hoppy for me. I enjoy IPA’s but not overly hoppy ones

Man Beer, Colorado IPA | Bull and Busch Brewery, Denver CO. | 7.7%

This was given to me from a friend as part of a beer trade.

The beer is hazy brownish amber in color and has a light amount of carbonation. It poured with a thin white collar around the edge of the glass.
Aromas of cracker and toasted malts are present.

The taste follows the smell and is rather malty with flavors of cracker and toasted malts. Only a slight amount of bitterness is present.

I would drink this beer again, and def may try it on tap next time as its local and I heard they good food.

    Epic Brewing | UT
    Big Bad Baptista | 10.8%

    Also from a beer trade

Pours black with small lacing that leaves shortly.
Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Tastes of coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, roasted malts, and vanilla,
Light bodied for a stout with a slightly watery mouth feel, low carbonation, dry finish. Would have again.

Oh man, I did forget to post that one!
That means I lied earlier about the strawberry cheesecake being my favorite, because Acheron was #1.

This is what I want out of a good stout. Looks and pours like motor oil, very little lacing, no froth, all business. This stuff was ridiculously rich, with loads of coconut and a solid amount of chocolate. With all that flavor, it was very modest in sweetness, not overbearing at all. @Grumpy Uncle @T-Rex266 this stuff gives Cocoa Anejo a run for its money.

Id like to add, at $20/4-pk save for a special occasion. Definitely not an everyday drinker.

Yeah, the dude that poured the glass felt the need to tell us it's $5 a can. That resonated with me

About to try a couple of these. Shaved my beard off last night so not sure if I’m qualified to drink a IPA. Maybe I can find a beanie and a flannel shirt to wear while I drink it. 44C91FEE-D70A-4EA2-B1E9-4FE88868CDC3.jpg

Sounds about right. Average Avery 12oz between 14-17%abv is $11-12. So not entirely bad, but if you’re on a mission (lol) sounds like this would get the job done too

    Rogue Ales | Newport, OR.
Santa's Private Reserve Ale | Strong Ale

I'm a little confused about this one. The description says they add candy cap mushrooms to give the brew a maple flavor... I've never had a mushroom that tastes like maple, and this beer sure doesnt. I mean, it's a good strong ale, but theres certainly no maple flavor. :notsure:
Its rich, strong, and a little bitter. Lots of body and it goes down smooth, but it just doesnt match the description from Rogue.

Violet! You're Turning Violet! | Sour Blueberry IPA

Hits you pretty quick with the sour, and then the hoppiness of the IPA sneaks on in. A really complex flavor profile since you have sweet, sour, tart, and bitter all playing a part. Really interesting beer for sure. I like it quite a bit!
