My parents have a 4k+ sqft home. I set set them up with Google WiFi, not impressed. Speeds get slower the further from the main node you go.

I went with a baller Asus one for my 3200sqft 2 story that looks like a spider on its back, and works amazingly well. You can also setup a Asus mesh network by adding another asus router, and basically doing the same thing as the Google WiFi.
My router is upstairs and with my gigabit connection, I see 250+gbps downstairs.

Nice. When we first upgraded to gigabit, it was the first time I've ever had Ethernet cable bottleneck.

Eero hands down. Works all the time, automatically updates, fast and reliable. I have had in three homes now and have zero problems in any of them. Amazon bought the company recently and now they are offering a less expensive version but I can’t vouch for it yet. I have the pro system (3 pro pods) and couldn’t be happier. Had the less expensive version which included one pro and two beacons, also super good!

I did try netgears mesh system (orbi I think it’s called) although powerful Not user friendly enough. Tried googles version, also good but not as fast.

Late response here. I don’t like that you have to create a cloud account with google to set them up. Google says they don’t track your browsing through these, but who knows. I have a standard netgear router and extender at the opposite side of the house.
