    Happy New Year all.

Looks Like selected 2018-2019 Tundra's impacted. I checked with Toyo and mine is on the list. This is a fuel pump issues. Concerning factor now, I initially thought fake news, but Toyota is still "investigating" and "developing a remedy". First class notification in March?

My biggest concern is at this time IMO is the vagueness. Paraphrasing, "Vehicle may stall during driving at high speed. Remedy not available" Well high speed to some may be normal speed to others. I am concerned at the potential crash they are reporting if the vehicle shuts down. Has anyone heard additional information? Should we really consider this a safety issue and just park until further notice?

    Thoughts/comments please.. TIA

There are a few threads created on this particular subject. Been checking my VIN through the Toyota owners site and so far I am good. Even if I was on the list I would still drive it and not worry about it until a remediation was made.

Toyota never officially sent me anything but carmax sent me an email saying my truck was part of a recall. Check it on the vin look up link someone on another thread posted. I did and it said the same thing you got in the mail. I drive it daily back and forth to work on the internet state. Just because it’s part of a recall doesn’t mean it’s going to happen to yours. It happened to enough models manufactured in that time frame for them to issue a recall. That fuel pump is on most Toyota models manufactured within that date so far so good on the wife’s Highlander ran the vin and it’s clean.

You can figure that "high speed" is highway speeds. If the problem is the fuel pump, then the engine simply quits running, that's the extent of the problem.

But...It can be a little tricky maneuvering from the high-speed inside freeway lane to the outside shoulder without power, and thus the warning. Your power steering will be gone, and you may have to manhandle a three ton truck across multiple lanes of high speed traffic composed of a-holes who are completely unaware and unconcerned that you have a problem that could threaten your life and theirs if they don't wake the hell up. Been there, done that. Until the remedy is available, I would choose to drive in traffic lanes closer to the "safety" of the shoulder if I were you.

Thanks everyone. Sorry I attempted search for previous threads to this recent recall, but obviously wasn't thorough enough so will search again. Since my vin popped up on Toyo's list, of will await their email notification and interim take your suggests and stay towards the ez safety pull-off routes and more importantly out of the path of the reckless! Cheers
