Let’s try to look at real world prices. This dealer will drop 3-5 off that price with one email. Platinum for around 46-47 before taxes. That’s their top end ride.
The discussion on this site has people buying PROs for around 51,000

And yes, if you’re paying Toyota’s build prices, then drive on over and buy a truck in CO. Still many cheaper states to pick one up but you can grab one and head to the casino with the 20,000 in savings...

Well, I'm in Canada so our prices are at least 30% higher than yours. I was happy with $45k CAD out the door on my SR5, which would have been about $10k less than an equivalent truck from Ford or GM.

I agree with you - but I would love to see a Lexus version of a Tundra (or even a Tacoma). At least people that complain about interiors would have change their argument to being the nice interiors are too expensive. :)

I'm excited to see the interior of a Rivian in-person. We will see what $70k gets...

Actually our prices are lower for the Tundra than the US. You paid 45K cad which is only 34K US. For my 2020 Tundra SR5 SX 4X4 I paid 41K which is only 31K US.

Can you buy from US without getting killed bringing it over?

Why would I buy in the States when it would cost more but even if it was cheaper many dealers are forbidden to sell to a Canadian customer. Rules that corporate imposes to protect its dealer network. It's not just a Toyota thing, many dealers do this.

    I think that's the exchange rate. Currently, $1 USD = $1.31 Canadian.

As others have alluded to, you get killed on the taxes and duties and whatnot when you do that. The only time it makes sense is when our dollar is on par with yours and if you're buying something very expensive.

Never said that I expect to pay under 50K for an upgraded top of the line next Gen Tundra. I'll be more then willing to pay 60+ if features and quality are comparable to the other top of the line trucks. For the more "truckish" buyer there will always be the SR5 mainstream model.

Like I said before, it took a while to find out how easily all the cheap interior pieces scuff. I usually do not make it a habit trying to scuff door panles on purpose during a test drive. I guess I just expected something a little more better for a truck with a 51K MSRP, my mistake.
