Hello to whoever comes across this thread,

I have an 05' Tundra Access Cab, and am looking to level it out. Not looking for too much lift in the front, just enough.

I was considering just getting the Bilstein 5100's all around, and possibly upgrading the coils up front. Also was looking at getting Coil overs up front and just leaving the rear stock...

Any costs/prices, just looking for reasonable price of course.

    Any thoughts or recommendations?

    Anything helps! Thanks for reading.

The best place to start is with how much you actually have as a budget and we work from there.

    $1-500

    $500-3000

    $3000-10k

    $10k plus

Lower the rear to match the factory front. Use the OEM springs in order to retain the great Toyota ride quality. It can be installed in your driveway or by a professional. Cornering and handling is enhanced by lowering the vehicle roll center, increased traction and great LOOKS! Welding is not required to install the lowering kit.

Have you done this on your Tundra? Or know anyone who has? This is a great idea. I am looking into this right now! Thanks for the reply -

I have lowered the rear of my '07 and love it, so I will be ordering this kit for my 4WD 2002 later this month. My 2002 has OEM off road TRD coils that give it a little lift up front... the rear leaf springs are factory. My shocks are HD Bilstein 4600's, and the ride is really smooth.

    Looks sick and level!
I have stock 4x2 coils. Was the lowering kit an easy install? Basically want to know if I could do it myself?

That Thunder Grey truck is not leveled yet, the rear sits about 2" higher than the front. The lowering kit for the rear of a first generation Tundra looks pretty simple, and the text says you can install it yourself in your driveway...

I have lowered the rear on my Super White 2007, and that was much more involved than the kit I posted and will be ordering for the 2002.

I installed the TRD 4X4 wheels in my old 2002 Tundra for the added lift in the front.

    (4) Bilsteins 5100’s would work nicely for you in that budget range. Shop around here would do all 4 materials/labor for $1100.

DIY is less obviously. You can shop online and use the search bar here for DIY.

On my 2003 I wanted to lower the rear to make it close to level. Hard to tell in the pic. But it looks level.

But what I wanted was to lower the rear just one inch.

Anyway https://sosperformance.com/ ( used to be Tundra Racing) made one for me that was adjustable 1" to 1 1/2" lowering kit. Tech support said they could make what I wanted. Dont remember the price but was under $200.00. My part# was TR-0015

Yep, that's the kit I was looking at.

Nice running board solution, I may have to do that if I can't find Regular Cab specific boards.

Original? or you replaced with OEM shocks?

I am tempted to get 5100 all around and thats 350-380$
I wonder how much of a difference new stock shocks are over 5100's?

The original shocks were Billy Bob 4600. The 5100’s are firmer but seem more stout. I have the 5100 and they are great for street driving. Also, they are great for tow/haul. They are a great value. Do it!
