What is the best combination to protect the battery terminals from corroding?

I use both the green/red pads and the red spray from CRC. No corrosion at all in the past 3 years.
I re-spray once every 6 months the connectors

Once your battery is venting off through the service caps, it is a never ending fight.

Yes, it is a sealed battery.

Make sure your leads are clean of corrosion and you are good to go.

Lead has always worked for me. You can get some pretty nice ones now days with fuses in them.

I emailed NorthStar and this was their response:

"The posts on the NSB-AGM27F are brass. I would personally go with Brass terminals but Stainless Steel would also be great."

It was smart for you to just contact the manufacturer. No guesswork and get the right parts for the job.

Can't go wrong with Yamaha products, although it's fairly expensive along with most of their products. They tend to make really good stuff in my opinion though.

    Little more info from NorthStar:
"Brian, being that the NorthStar batteries have a 3 stage sealed terminal design (usually a weak spot where leakage can occur) it is not a big concern for corrosion as there is no risk of anything leaking at the terminal. As far a galvanic corrosion goes, the brass is much more resistant to this than lead would be. That is why we typically dont have a standard recommended terminal material. "

Yep. Two dissimilar metals will corrode. I see this a lot with older beadlock wheels. Never can I stress enough, anti-seize works wonders.

Piggybacking onto this thread I just noticed this. So...disconnect leads, clean leads and posts with a wire brush, add pads and spray? Anything else to do/watch for? @csuviper or anyone else, any final recommendations for anti corrosion spray?

Clean with a wire brush and some baking soda/water solution and then keep it covered with Vaseline/fluid film/grease/etc. I am currently using fluid film because it is on my garage shelf but I've used WD-40 and chain lube before and both have worked fine. Just check on it whenever you fill up your fuel tank and are checking your oil and reapply as needed

Its all a downhill battle from here on out until you replace. Your frequency of cleaning and acid neutralization will keep increasing to the point where you batter starts having problems or dies.

Another tip to prevent corrosion is to NEVER connect any wires except the battery leads directly to the battery terminals. Again, dissimilar metals instigate corrosion. Oh, and Vaseline Petroleum Jelly has been working for many, many years..... no need to get the expensive, fancy sprays and pads and other gadgets unless you just really want to spend more money on it.

In my experience battery connectors are tin coated and the wire brushing will expose the underlaying metal, in my case a copper colored battery terminal which may comolicate matters. This can be mitigated by a grease/protectant coating prior to assembly, proper assembly will squeeze the grease out where metal to metal contact occurs and it will remain to protect dissimilar metals where its not forced out. Previously I applied protectant after assembly and it never reached many areas.

Vaseline will work in a pinch but its designed to liquify at roughly body temperature and that temp is regulary exceeded under hood, obviously. Silicone grease is probably better and good for much higher temps. I am a fan of NOCO NCP2 which is oil based and stays where you put it. Looks ugly as hell, used motor oil comes to mind, but works great. More difficult to remove than grease but wipes away with a rag and some elbow grease.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I just switched to an X2 (err, well found out it was the wrong size when I put it in and returned it, waiting for the 27f now) and it was fresh in mind.
