It might not look pretty but secure the other side somehow. The speaker will eventually vibrate against the cover. Mine was just like that, one bolt before. Can’t remember what I did, might have angled in a different bolt on the left.

so the kickers are a good fit for the centre position but are too big for the corners?

I have a buddy with the same truck and we could get a pair to throw in the centre if it makes a difference..earlier in the thread I saw a pair of tweeters in the center position...where did that come from? that seems like a great way to get the highs without having to get into the sail panel.

This is what i did with a set of powerbass components. The 6x9 gives out really good bass without any deadening but they're amp powered with 50w to each on the rear channels. I have kenwood 3.5 in the corner dash and these are crystal clear running to the front channels. No rear speakers except 2 Alpine 10s.

Got the kickers today. Wired them in. The corner units are tight. They are a little too deep for the space. I used the factory bolt on the nut closer to the windshield and zip tied the near side. It’s secure and the covers went back on without any noticeable bulge.

I used my phone to record before and after, same song, same volume, and noticed that the sound is slightly louder and more clear with less distortion. I played the videos for my wife and she noticed the clarity immediately.

For anyone considering this, I’m on the fence about whether this is worth it. About $63 for speakers, I reused the factory connectors and soldered them to the new speakers, so about 1.5 hours of careful work and fiddling with how best to secure them. It definitely sounds better.

I did not have an issue placing the speakers grills back in place.

Here is a rare song to test if you accomplish the right install - replacing only the tweeters front dash speakers.

Sounds very good with a kenwood 50x4. Lots of bass. So much in fact, I had to cross them over at 120hz/12db. Tweeters plays very nice at the center position.

One more thing, I'm not sure why Powerbase has them wired up in series when using the provided adapter harness but I did mine in parallel. Since they're small tweeters, perhaps it doesn't affect the resistance that much to care. The factory setup is wired in parallel though, positive with positive from both.

I know this is an old thread, but this didn't work in my 2017 Non-JBL Entune Tundra. This only played the right channel in my center speaker. If you connect either the 1st and 3rd (both positives) or 2nd and 4th (both negatives) then the center will play sound from both sides, but it seems to only be about 1/2 volume, and I'm assuming this is bad for your amp (since I'm guessing it backfeeds the right voltage into the left channel and vice versa).

The below illustrates why its only getting sound from the right channel if you hook it up like you suggest.

If I did a setup where I rerouted all of head unit outputs (head unit no longer feeding tweeters) to a four channel amp (components Left and Right), would I splice into front left and right then run both left and right bridges in one center speaker? Does that mess with resistance/power of the bridged connection?
