Go back one page and you will see what happened to the black hardware they sent it with originally. After contacting them they sent out the stainless hardware. Have not looked at any other black hardware after the fact.

I drilled new holes in the brackets about halfway down so that the light bar would fit.

Measure twice, drill once haha. I made sure it had enough room to move a little bit. For that reason.

the hole in the light got stripped do to the brackets just being to tight to the mounting part of the bumper and when i was tightening the bolt to the bumper it put to much pressure on the bolt that goes to the light and popped it out of place and bolt on the right side got stripped, the light bar housing that receives the bolts are real cheap so i ordered the same one again and also a different one to see which one i would like .........

Thank you for this. Been waiting to see someone do this. I specifically want the MRDS but also didn’t want to lose my sensors. I was bummed they didn’t have one with sensor cutouts.

Are they working the same ? Pretty easy mod right ?

Yes, they work the same with no issues. Easy to mod. If you don't cut down the mesh cover like I did, all you need to do it out a 7/8" hole in the mesh for the sensor. I used a stepper bit in a drill press.

What do you mean by cut down the mesh cover like you did ? Understood the drilling part just not sure what u mean by cut down

Edit. Nevermind. I see what you did there. Looks good didn’t even notice you cut them down

Yeah no worries. I wanted to be able to mount pods in that space, but still use the mesh for the sensors.

Got a 2nd gen MRDS for my 3rd gen barely used for a killer price! Just got it installed and it fits really well! Need to modify my light mounts and add my sensors but I’m totally happy!!!

    Eh, they are ok :rofl::rofl:
It mounted fine, extends a little farther out but looks like it is meant to be that way.

So i just picked up a MRDS bumper with a 40" Rigid LED light bar, loving it so far. Big question i got is, who has blacked out the nfab skid and what did u use? Plasti dip, spray can, bed liner. Looking to black it out with it installed because its a bitch to take it off again lol

I'm getting mine powder coated and is costing me 100.00 for the bolts to make it easier I bought fast nuts I think there called....where it looks like a nut but has a clip to stay in place and you dont have to hold it with a wrench also bought black bolts

How are you guys putting the pod lights on these bumpers on the out side corner instead of adding the covers what do you mount them to?

There is a cross bar at the corners that you can use to mount pods. I used these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QGDXK4J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I cut down the mesh to mount the front sensors and used these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M106XJQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
to mount a third light behind the mesh. The mount goes on the bottom part of the bumper and is somewhat hidden by the mesh cover.

Also note that the bar behind the mesh is a different diameter than the rest of the bumper.

And as mentioned before, the skid plate is a pain to get on/off, I would get some clip nuts and riv-nuts to mount the skid plate. Then you don't have to hold a nut/washer in place while trying to mount the skid plate.

I used riv-nuts on the two holes in the middle (license plate mount) and clips nuts on the corners. Note that those two locations have different size holes.

This is a great bumper, but N-Fab dropped the ball when it comes to mounting the skid plate, and for mounting pods in the corners. Other models of this bumper (for other makes/models) have the universal mounting setup in the corners, just not for the Tundra.
