Is anyone interested in setting up a meet and greet?

im currently on Hilton Head but am open to pulling a gathering together somewhere centralized. I’d like to throw an easy trail day together if anyone knows something the SE trucks can handle. Count me in for anything you list.

**dates and details will be worked out if I find some fellow enthusiasts

Please throw throw hands up if you’re interested. I haven’t been on here in quite sometime so anyone that knows people in this area that I don’t, would you please tag them??

    I’d be game!
There’s quite a few GA folks on here now. Enough that I’ve often thought we could do a GA crew meet.
I think something on the south Atlanta area would be central enough for everyone in the state.

Being around Atlanta, I would be game for a meet as far as Spartanburg, SC in order to meet up with some SC and NC brethren. There’s a big 4-wheel park around Spartanburg...can’t remember the name at the moment.

I don't wheel my Tundra, but I'd be up for a Gulches gtg. I'll just be bringing this.

Sounds like fun. I'll see what the dates and place is before I can comment to it.

    Spit-balling ideas...

NASCAR's at Atlanta the weekend of 3/14 - 3/15. Truck race is Sat. 3/14.
We could have a meet Sat. and those that want to, go cheer on some Tundras...

SC, NC,GA and FL is a pretty big area, I think it would need to be broken down a smaller area where folks could day trip it. I mean if it was scheduled for OBX wouldn't be anything I could do, and I doubt OBX folks would go to Tallahassee.

It is a large area to try and meet up. I would say DuPont state forest (bob’s creek road, green river road, pinnacle mountain road) would be a good easy track we could do, or a section of the GA traverse. I did the Burrel’s ford area recently and had a lot of fun. I’m also interested in mustard ground road, and would do horse pasture road again if those suit others well. Definitely hit a brewery or pub after. My 2019 won’t be going to an OHV park, but I’d be down for some unmaintained roads and adventure for a meet up.

Siearra Navada brewery is in Arden NC. Everytime I go up 25 I see Bob's Creek Road, I didn't know it was a trail, thought it just looped back into Green River Road. I know there are a lot of old CCC camp roads up there but are they passable?
I'm a 2 wheeler so go easy on me....
Oh I see, you can actually get back over to 276 on those roads.

Eventually green river road turns dirt, turn right and pinnacle mountain road is less improved but probably still ok with 2wd if your careful in a couple of spots.
Also yellow gap road starts/ends almost at Sierra Nevada.

Did it with my dad, mom, and their LC, he was smitten with the country side and the beer. Would definitely be interested in a small group. Yellow Gap Rd unfortunately typically closes in winter due to freeze thaw and winter weather.

Maybe start planning now for a spring ride from Brevard to Sierra Nevada?
There’s so much to do outdoors in WNC, Upstate SC, Northern GA area. So excited about all the camping/off-road opportunities nearby, impatiently awaiting my FWC delivery in May.

I'm up for a ride as long as it doesn't get too bad. Got to keep my daily driver ok. But yes there is a lot to do here in WNC. We've got Cataloochee with the elk and Max patch to ride up to. And a lot more.

These are “rough road” designated. But they’re pretty much dirt roads with some potholes and rocky sections. Nothing too serious. Can go 25-30 on most sections, bet we should probably stick to 15-20mph

These are Forest Service roads right? Probably be gravel most of the way, maintained by state or USDA.

I’m interested. Can head north from north Atlanta easily. Actually might go ride one or two of these trails tomorrow to test out the new truck.

    App is AllTrails.

You’re right. Looks like I’ll be doing something else. There’s one called Horseshoe Ridge rd. Another called Tray Mountain rd but it’s rumored to be closed.

Horseshoe ridge road was pretty dope. 8 miles long. Campsite near the middle. 4 or 5 puddles with plenty of mud after rain yesterday. Lot of rocks in the road. A few shoots off to the sides with serious bumps and whatnot. Here’s a couple pics.

Could be a good place for a ride.

I use to go riding in Sumter National Forrest back in my younger days, my ol' '78 Chevy bonanza 2 wheeler with a 400 and straight duals. Never got in a situation where I needed 4x4 but saw some. Most of those roads are pretty well maintained.

Sumter doesn't have the nice scenic spots like the roads up in the foot hills does.

Looks like you had a good time!

I’m still down for a WNC, upstate SC, and NE GA run/meetup! Planning wheeling/camping somewhere tomorrow night.
I will not be trashing the place like so many do around here :monocle:
