    Flux capacitor!
The family and I had another great trip to Colorado! I drove over 2,100 miles round trip. Yesterday I drove over 1,000 miles straight from Telluride to Texas. The truck drives so smooth! I love that you really can’t feel the truck shifting since it has the 10 speed Allison Transmission. I drove my last three tundras to Telluride Colorado as well. The biggest difference was my MPG! I averaged 17.1 mpg over the whole trip. The truck climbs hills a lot easier but it also has a lot more torque. I got two very large cracks on my windshield from a semi driver who passed me and other cars as he went off the shoulder. So as soon as I hit my remote start in CO to warm my truck the whole windshield cracked! It will get replaced soon but the important thing is we made it home safely and we had a great time in CO!

Saw this nice little scout in Downtown Telluride!

I spotted this sweet TRD PRO in the army green with a matching camper shell. Anyone on here maybe?! I saw a lot of nice looking Tundras in NM and CO!

I hit the 10,000 milestone on miles already. I drive a lot but I enjoy driving!

Man, this is such a nice looking truck. If I had the income and could justify a diesel, a GM just like this would be in my driveway.

Looking forward to see how this build turns out! :D

Wait until you hit 30k miles. The truck will loosen up a bit.

Just for comparison MPG, since I have been DD my diesel since my Lexus has been having water pump issues, I have been getting 18.6 to 19.7 mpg. Change out your diff and transfer case fluids. You might be shocked at what the oil looks like.

Tonight I swapped out the rear craptastic Rancho shocks for Bilstein 4600. The Rancho shocks were gone. I have been feeling an off and on vibration when empty for a while now (probably since 28k miles, have 41k miles now). Hopefully this solves this mystery. From the feel of the factory shocks, this is most likely the problem.

Thank you for the advice! I’ve been so impressed with the drive and feel of this truck! The power of the diesel is amazing! I was spending around $600-$800 a month on premium gas for my Tundra. Now I only spend about half of that in diesel fuel. I will be changing out all the fluids when it’s time. Thanks for letting me know about that. How have your brakes been holding up?

I’m definitely changing my Rancho shocks but I’m waiting on the bds Coilover lift kit to release. The bds kit will come with Fox shocks. Pro comp just released their 2.5” level lift and 5.5” lift kit yesterday for my truck. The 5-7” lifts are tempting but I’m leaning towards the 3” Coilover kit from bds to help retain the trucks fifth wheel capabilities. I thought I heard the pro comp shocks are actually built by Bilstein.

Did you delete your truck yet? I was going to leave mine alone for now because of all the emission laws. I know the def system can put a lot of restrictions on mpg and performance. Plus, I don't want to loose my factory warranty.

That's a huge fuel savings on the bottom line each month.

This has been my average these past three days, no towing.

    D371D06A-C392-41AF-9BA2-3B4A4BB62C23.jpg

I have had no issues with brakes. On average from my research, even with heavy towing most owners need pads at 110-120K miles. When using the exhaust brake /Allison grade braking, I hardly even use my brakes even on steep grades.

Pro Comp are built by Bilstein if I remember correctly.

No deletes for me. We have pretty strict emissions and the benefits are only 5-10 hp on factory delete tunes. I probably will do the electronic EGR delete. So the EGR valve will stay closed electronically.

Kennedy Diesel hasn't done anything with the L5P yet....

    For your transmission service:

    https://dmaxstore.com/products/?route=product/category&path=12

You can actually buy genuine Allison transmission external screw on filters through Walmart online for around 7.13 each. The dealership uses AC Delco and wanted 60.00 each...FYI

I got my new OEM replacement GMC front logo that is backlit with white leds. It’s a direct fit with the wire harness to plug into the OEM truck harness. A40CC432-49E8-443A-B598-8E34C8B5EE1B.jpg

I just got a dash cam for my truck that records both the front and rear views. It’s a direct plug and play setup for my truck. I like that it can record while my truck is parked.

This Kelderman aftermarket front bumper is definitely a contender for my truck. Still waiting for a few lift kits to release before I can plan my whole build out. E3DD1695-A19A-4B3F-9A0E-EE79CBA6B7B9.jpg

Where did you get your OEM replacement? Im a bit :notsure: since some have said Safelight and other's void out warranties.. I called the speakership and of course they said to use Safelight.

I used Safelite glass as well. I requested through them I wanted an OEM windshield. Then my insurance had to authorize the cost for the OEM windshield. I was told if the vehicle is less than two years old it’s easier to approval on an OEM replacement.
