Also, people with the Hellwig rear sway bar, I read something that said the sway bar wont work with lifted trucks because they arent long enough. Anyone have any experience with it on a lifted truck?

Ha! Yep that's the truth. She loves seeing the local 1st gen LT Tundras driving around and would like to have one so she and my daughter can run around in the desert while my son and I ride on our bikes. Her dad did a great job teaching her what's up.
Total cost was around 400 for the grille and bumper setup with the oem fasteners and corner mounts. OEM grille emblems are NOT cheap. You could do it for alot cheaper and possibly oem if you took your time hitting the junkyards. Most of the trucks I looked at had front end damage so they were useless. If it didn't, the parts were gone pretty quick. Pretty popular work truck around here, parts get scooped in no time.

Ya, the lkq I went to in santa fe springs had both of the tundras absolutely destroyed. I have a notification sent so next time one comes up I can try to go as soon as possible.

Here is what I tried in an attempt to keep the sexy 1st Gen Curves. I’m sure it will look better in person than on the screen, but I’m still unsure about doing it. That curve scares me with paint because once you pull the trigger its permanent. Maybe easier with your film stuff? Give it a go cause it goes well on your truck.

I’d listen to them as they are probably right. On my non-lifted truck the threads on the down rod had just enough length to make it work.

Well, I finally did it! It took some motivating from @ESTundra937 and @oscardog86 and I definitely agree with them. the truck looks so much better with taking that bottom plastic piece off. My bumper was bent due to a recent off road trip, so it took some sweat and elbow grease to get her loose, but it really only took 10 minutes tops. Now all i have to do is clean her up and respray the bumper and then spray the metal piece under. Im thinking of going with bed liner this time.

Don't have one but if you really want it to work you can probably find some longer length links or have some welded up.

I think I'm gonna tackle the interior LED lighting task this weekend. Can someone with a limited check and see if the steering wheel controls light up? I put some in many moons ago and never bothered with trying to get them lit.

This is good news. Your sway bar is level to the horizontal ground? Or, did you cheat it up for the threads?

Go on the lkq website and make an account, Then for “your garage” you put location and vehicles. Its pretty handy! May the best part picker win!

Well I attempted to start my front axle seal and ECGS bushing job today, stripped the Allen head bolt while trying to drain the front diff. Gotta take the truck down to the shop in the morning to have a bolt welded on! :spending:

also, noticed my CV axle bolt wasn’t looking too great, has anyone done the reboot or is it worth replacing the whole thing?

Oh no! Did you try hitting it with a chisel or hammer? It’s a crush washer so it should give some when you hit which should allow you to loosen it, or find a chisel the size or bigger than the Allen and drive the bad boy straight in, then grab that to turn it off/out.
I plan to reboot my oems, but stuck oriley CVs in untill I have time to reboot

Do you have a torx bit you can try to hammer in there? Sometimes that works on stripped allens and it really works on broken copper fittings.

I tried a chisel in there.. I’m guessing this service hasn’t been done in a looong time. I got a guy in town to weld on a nut for me for cheap so it’ll be back on track tomorrow.

the tool arrived in the mail today thanks again to FrenchToasty!

They feel great too. It tightened up my seats and now the passenger and driver's side feel equally tight. I am enjoying the heat too. If nothing else, the heat is worth it for the money.

I am a leather guy, but my dad isn't. He saw my seats and really liked them. He actually thought about doing his f150. He probably won't, but my whole life up until now he would actually pass up a truck just because it had leather. I told him how much they cost and he agreed they looked like they were worth it as long as the rear isn't any different. Not often he actually agrees with my idea of value haha.

Yeah I'm tempted. I can't find that seller you mentioned on eBay though. Can you post a link?
