part of me feels it's not wise to sell perfectly good tires just to get different ones but I really don't like the ones that come stock lol.

I pulled my Michelin's off immediately and sold them through Craig's List. I went with 275/70 R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers. They hum pretty good but love the look. Just a little taller than stock size.

Them are nice tires I almost went with them but my son has them on his Ram 2500 and he has 18000 miles on them but they look like they have 40000 miles on them not sure why, they do good off road and he gets a good highway ride out of them. I just think he should get more than 30000 miles out of a tire I ended up going with Yokohama MTs first time with Yoko’s after 5000 miles they still look new we’ll see how these wear.

Of course it's not, but that's not the point :) If we only focused on what's financially wise, we'd all be driving tiny little economy cars.

My lift on my truck wasn't wise, but it makes me smile every time I look at it.

@GO DAWGS Those are nice tires. Right now I am looking at the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 295/70's which I am planning on trying tomorrow. I also am probably going to buy that TRD Pro lift kit for $350 off of westcott Designs.

@relentlessfax couple of tips for you.
    1. If you put the “@“ symbol in front of someone’s user name it will “tag” them so they get a notification, in other words they know you are replying to them
    2. If you click on the word “quote” at the bottom of the post you are replying to it will put that post in your reply...another way people will know you are replying to them

    hope this helps

Cool truck. Don't forget to get an alignment after larger tires and definitely after a lift is added.

Check out the Nitto Ridge Grappler. More aggressive than an AT but less than a MT and they have added an extra layer/belt(?) for the on-road drivers to assist in tread-wear. More quiet than my BFG ATs as well. I had them on my prior truck and plan to get them again for the Tundra.

I have added larger tires on almost every truck I have owned and NEVER had an alignment issue. Some people will get an alignment every time they buy tires. Unless I have hit something or suspect the alignment is off I don't.

I would agree. The 240 was a generous offer from a tire shop. I tried to unload my Michelin tires and they wouldn’t even make me an offer at discount. I ended up selling my wheels/tires for 1000 on Craigslist

What do you consider as an alignment issue? You can drive on a bad alignment for the entire life of the tires that doesn't mean it's aligned correctly. I can tell you that changing the tire size absolutely changes the geometry of your alignment. I have an entire thread on TW dealing with alignments and what people will tell you is "good" and what actually is "good". Road Crowning is a great point, just because your caster is matching on both sides in the green doesn't mean it's right, you actually want a degree or so difference so that you track correctly down the road...If you can afford an alignment go get one...and dont get Firestones lifetime alignment, I have a whole separate thread just on them and "toe-n-go" alignments. Good luck!

Spend your money on unneeded services if you like. I prefer to spend mine on things I need. I have driven Toyotas for close to 300,000 miles and only alignment I have needed was after installing 6112s. Out of the 9 Fords I owned previous to buying Toyotas I had two alignments done. My son hit a big pothole on one and the other one required some new front end components.

I actually do them myself for free sir. You can find some of my own comments on this thread.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-do-an-alignment-at-home.252256/

Can you tell us why it isn't needed, or what you consider an alignment issue? At what size difference, from stock, should we consider the threshold to be before considering an alignment? Nobody has to do anything, it is just a suggestion to the maximum life out of your new tires that you spent your hard earned money on, simply put...it protects your investment.

7th Toyota, 20th vehicle owned...Sorry you owned so many Fords.

Number one I am very sensitive to the way my vehicle drives and number 2 I pay close attention to tire wear. These are things that not everyone does.
