In the last month the truck has been drivable maybe a week. For instance, I had issues with my Alcan springs (1” instead of 2” lift) so I just picked up the new ones today.

Ordered a Yeti 1000 for the bed. Running power this weekend, I still need to think through mounting solutions in the bed for fridge and Yeti.

I like it so far. Only used it once. I’m going to add an attachment point on the rear so I can just hook it to the roof rack and just make deployment a few seconds faster. I’ll shoot some picks next week from our trip.

    Next on the list:

Taking some time next week to try and get the battery installed in the bed with the fridge. I’m going to run either marine plywood or Baltic birch across the length of the bed to give myself multiple attachment points without having to drill a bunch of holes.

Also pulled the rear seat this past weekend. I have an idea for rear seat delete (40%) but not sure if I’m 100% sure I’ve decided on what I want there.

And if it’s warm enough and the stuff above goes well. I’ll try and get my Rigd Ultra swing in and relocate the backup cam. While I have the radio out get the Rago dash mount in. Let’s see if we have some good weather!

    Busy weekend pics to follow.
Installed the platform in the bed, (Yeti, kitchen and dometic will go in shortly before first trip), installed the Rigd ultra swing (backup camera relocate as well), replaced the struts on the doors so it can lift the Maxtrax.

She’s a moving monster now. Added about 3-4ft (didn’t measure) with the bike rack on.

    Nice!

First few trips are local mtb trips to dial her in. Big trips are Denver to Flagstaff area, and the big trip at the end of the season which is Denver to Glacier with a substantial portion on the IDBDR.

As you can see by the dash shot, was a small window warm enough to be crawling around on the ground 8E4BD211-5A17-45CB-B0AA-25831DDD4646.jpg 207052C9-53DE-4959-83D1-21B4A79D5F87.jpg 9990626B-D482-4D15-9ED3-84BCC368A254.jpg 715150FB-C0FF-422E-A2AD-1112D00A94EB.jpg 077DDAE7-B363-4FFA-9B08-04048D93C941.jpg
initial thoughts on the Rigd is super easy install, clean open and close. We will see once I take it out.
Same with the @ragofabrication dash plate. Easy install, and the fact that I was relocating the backup cam made doing that and the camera at the same time easy since you have to pull the radio for both.
I will get the ram mounts, I’m still getting my head around power up to the plate so I want to make sure I have that figured out first.

Great build!! Definitely around what I'm looking to do. I like your topper just wished it contoured more to the trucks body line(i.e. back glass) like the leer and such do.

Looking forward to seeing your set up with solar! I did see that you bought a yeti are you going to strictly use that as your battery source?

    Thanks!

Yeah I don’t disagree on the contour, it’s not as bad in person as it looks in pics but the others def line up better that way.

At the end of the day the canopy is about function for me. With the weight capacity it of it, it was a no brainer. I carry an awning, and RTT on it and I’m a big dude with wife (who is not a big dude, ha!) and kiddo. Also it will hold two grown men for the big trip this summer.

As for the Yeti, I’m going to run an Anderson connector from the battery for now only. We generally move everyday and I’m not worried about it discharging too much in that time (even running camp lights, fridge, charging etc). I keep going back and forth on it, so early spring trips will dictate what direction I go on that. I def have roof rack space for one so I will test what works.
