Anything it does is negligible. I have it and it might have helped the top end slightly. Mpgs didn’t change. But its a cheap part so why not.

Question for you....you like the dual? That's first kinda big mod I was thinking of. Worth it? I need to feel it a little more. Not looking for glasspacks or straight pipe. That's why the trd has me intrested

Just installed the trd air flow accelerator and rather than leave a gap around the fender wall I used some leftover weatherstrip from my tailgate seal mod. Turned out great and slips right into the grooves for tight seal.

This may sound stupid, but what is the difference between the trd part and the regular rubber boot that's in there now?

I believe the Trd is wider so more air can get throw compared to the oem

Again, this may sound stupid, but how is it wider if it has to fit in the same size hole already existing in the fender? maybe its a thinner wall cone so it increases the inner diameter?

The inlet part or “mouth” is larger than stock and is shaped differently to increase air flow. The idea is that when paired with the TRD intake, you get an increase of less turbulent air flow. Does it work? Debatable. Also, the accelerator is flexible, that’s how it can be installed without modding the whole in the fender.

Ok, so I bought a trd accelerator and took pics of the differences during the install. Total time took maybe 15-20 mins to swap them out. I haven't noticed any crazy differences as far a driving but the Motor does seem to be throatier with my afe exhaust. 7FA41D9C-C6E4-47E9-A871-D327E9D1B7E8.jpg 19371D0E-D9F4-4431-9B59-DD993C7BFBA7.jpgDEEE9320-5BAE-41E7-9902-F050377BFA49.jpgDD87A741-765B-4D85-9E31-DC8EA3C6EE11.jpg

When you say you can feel the difference are you talking performance, or that you can literally feel the deeper tone?

What is the ease of access when replacing the AFA? Is it necessary to remove the wheel?

No, not necessary to remove wheel. Unclip the airbox as if you are taking the filter out. There are some screws holding the lower airbox in, unscrew those. Take the lower airbox out. Take out the hold air flow piece that goes to the fender. Insert the new TRD air flow accelerator. Put back lower air box and accompanying screws. Put back intake filter and lock the upper air box piece to lower piece. Done.

Did you source the parts separately for your air box mod or did you buy a kit?

I used to design Intake systems for Airaid and K&N and this is a good design that will work. It uses a velocity stack principle to increase air flow into the air box. That stock inlet with the sharp edges is not ideal, so TRD made a better part with a nice big radius to help air flow. I used to test concepts like this on a flow bench and adding that radius makes a night and day difference. We would incorporate it any time we could into our intakes.
