I have a Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX. The headunit has 2 camera inputs but it takes 3-4 commands to navigate to the camera screen, which can take like 7-10 seconds. If im trying to park, and i need to switch to the front camera quickly, 10 seconds can be quite annoying.

Would it be possible to install the FRAC, or wire up a physical switch to get an immediate view of the cameras?

i think i was searching the wrong stuff earlier. i believe this would work just fine for what im trying to do. some y-splits would allow me to leave my 2 cameras how they are, and allow it to be manually activated through this module.

If your head unit is the same or similar to my 4400, long press on the function button (to the right of the volume buttons) and that will pull up the front cam.

I just installed a pioneer 1300 and it won’t display my stock backup cam. The head unit works fine with a different cam plugged in, but I don’t wanna change my camera as that would be a royal pita. Any ideas? I have a 2013 tundra

Did you install a ADS-MMR to retain stock features? If so you can program one of your steering wheel controls as a shortcut to switch to the other camera input. I did this with my kenwood.

Voltage issue from the factory camera? I read somewhere that they're 6-volt on some years, though I never had the issue and didn't look into it further.

It is 6 volts. Should it be something else? 12?

    Probably.
Resource a local install shop or Crutchfield.com for solution.

Maybe your year didn't need the stepdown? Someone with a '13 or another second gen that has replaced their HU might be able to add from their experiences?

The camera may be bad, or fried from install.
Try to plug a new one in to HU and see if works.

The stock camera works fine. Im still using it in my rearview mirror. I plugged a different camera into the h/u and it all worked. The harness going to the rearview mirror has about 20 wires. This mirror has several buttons that ive never used. Dont even know what they do.

    Seems complicated with that harness.

Quickest solution may be new tailgate latch with camera, Amazon Masters Tailgate Latch with Cam.. Has cord full length to bring to HU. New assembly $100ish, maybe another $100 to install or DIY.

This is what I have, did not have BU cam. Many others have as well.

PN and pics in my build below.

    Good luck!
