But, I ended up picking up one of the only 2020s in the state of Colorado. The thing was sitting inside, my wife gets in it and loves it and then they pull up the 2019 Limited and my wife says “oh I don’t like this. It looks just like my 2010 inside.” Up close, the 2020 is head and shoulders better looking, has some really good tech the old style doesn’t and has a much nicer and more modern interior. Happy wife, happy life I guess. I definitely would have saved money on the outgoing models though.

Any interior shots? While I like the room and comfort of my wife's Ford Flex it had a serious mechanical failure (lower balljoint) which has lost my faith in the vehicle for long term durability and dependability.

    Congrats! Looks nice!

Did you look at the Ravs at all? Just curious on comparison...

The Rav is sweet. I personally really like it. I rented one a few weeks ago in Arizona. But, my wife wanted something bigger and to her a third row was a must.

Aaah, I get it. How much room do you lose in storage with the 3rd row being used? Is it stowable?

Fold down. If it’s up, you lose a decent amount for sure. We usually have it stowed away.

    Nice.

We've got a 2019 (V6) and I really like how well it rides, handles and accelerates (after I put a Pedal Commander on it. A MUST in my book).

Of note. The Rav4's, I believe, all now come with a Constant Variable Transmissions (CVT). Something in my book to 118.75% avoid. The Highlanders are still conventional transmissions.

At the risk of stating the obvious------two totally different vehicles. So, if you can swing two vehicles, the Highlander is a wonderful occasional change from the Tundra.

FYI, the Highlander (at least 2019) in the V6 configuration is set up (engine, transmission, frame accommodation) from Mama Toyota to tow 5,000 lbs.

I could drive it daily. Tons of good tech and she’s quick. Almost 300 HP and 275 torque.

I may be wrong but when I was looking at them the gas model ones have traditional 8 spds and the Hybrid had an ECVT which supposedly is better than the traditional CVT. I'll have to look it up later.

FYI - our 2019 Lexus RX 350L is being recalled for a fuel pump issue. Toyota will supposedly have a fix in March. Total of 696,000 cars recalled, and your Highlander is probably one of them. I’ve considered the Pedal Commander to eliminate the terrible hesitation in the drive by wire system, so I’ll maybe buy of after the recall fix. Hate taking the new car into the stealership; may wait and let the first 600K go ahead of me.
Here’s a link on the recall:

new rav4s have the 8 speed. only ones with CVTs are the hybrids in both the highlander and rav4. (not the standard style of CVT either)

as for gas powered cars its only the corolla. CHR, corolla hatch. that have CVT

I have a PC in my Tundra. The new Highlander has three modes. Eco, normal and sport. In Sport, it’s really nice. I won’t be adding the PC due to this option.

Also, they tried to rope me into an extended warranty to the tune of 3800 bucks. It’s was a 10 year 100,000. After calling the guy out on how much he was trying to rip me off and how sad it is that they do that crap I told him I’ll be purchasing a 9 year 100,000 for 1035. Toyota platinum 0 deductible which I did today.
