So, I've had the 5160's on my truck for a couple months with no issues. I didn't like the hose clamps mounting the reservoir to the shock, but didn't want to spend another $80.00 on the billet clamps. The were fine until I blasted through some snow drifts yesterday. Somehow both of the hose clamps on the passenger side broke. Both of the poly spacers and one of the clamps were laying in my driveway today. Didn't notice them until I had driven the truck about seven miles. Doesn't look like anything got jacked up. I still don't want to spend another $80 for bilsteins clamps that should come with these shocks for $170 each! Anybody know of a good way to mount the resis to the tabs that hang off the bed in the wheel well? Toytec has some bracket things, but they still use hose clamps. Looked all over the web and didn't find anything better. Any ideas guys?

I used the hose clamps on an install of resis on my Tacoma in the past that attach to welded on brackets. Not sure of another way.

There is the aluminum mounts that connect the resi to the shock body but that sounds like what you had.

Do you think maybe I over tightened the clamps? Or maybe I got defective ones. I really doubt that the snow ripped it loose and being mounted to the shock the resis shouldn't really move around. They would more out of harms way mounted on the frame. I've seen some for jeeps that are kind of a two piece belly band style. I'll have to make some calls and see if they would work.

I just have the hose clamps and poly spacers that came with the shocks. Seems like one billet bracket per shock isn't going to be a whole lot better. Maybe getting them up out of harms way with the Toytec bracket with hose clamps is good enough.

I live in co. Guess I'll go by Toytec and look at their brackets. Nothing like being able to see what your getting in real life. The trade off is since I live in the same state is paying tax on it!

Do you know if having the resis mounted to the shock has been a problem for other people?
