    Hello All,

Been a long time lurker but finally joined when I decided to keep my 2008 Toyoto Tundra Crewmax 4x4 Limited instead of blowing $60k on a new one. I have started a total revamp of my 2008 and will post pics as additions are made.

Here is a photo of my brand new Tundra back in November of 2007 right after I bought it...

After deciding to keep it for another 12 years, the fist mod I did was replace the leather. I will grab some photos of that soon. I also changed out all the door armrest to brand new black ones and added a black TRD shifter knob. After my father passed last year, I decided I wanted to get into Overlanding so I could spend more time with my brother, who is totally into going just about anywhere and camping. So in October I put my deposit down on a Vagabond Nomad and have big plans for the build out.

Next up was Method Vex 17 inch rims powder-coated in NIC Prismatic Powders Pale Brown with a tire clearance chop and Toyo Open Country 35 x 12.5 M/T.s This color is the closest match to Cerakot FDE, which I plan to use as one of the colors to paint my truck Desert Camo. Tire/wheel combo and chop were done by SDHQ in Gilbert. I also swapped the door handles and mirror plastic for black. I've sent Roman a ton of money in the last few months getting rid of the Arizona rubber rot.

Two weeks ago SDHQ installed the Icon 3.0 Stage 2 suspension I got on sale during Black Friday. They replaced my power steering rack at the same time at 138,000 miles.

This past weekend I began the insane process of sanding my beautiful gloss black paint job I had meticulously maintained all these years. It felt so wrong and so right all at the same time. The last picture below is an AR I finished in Cerakote and I will be using the same colors in their C series (no bake) for the desert camo pattern.

Had time today to shoot the base coat on the tail gate, coat the fender flares, pull the bumper for powder coating and almost finish prepping the bedsides for spraying tomorrow...

Chipping away at this paint job pretty slowly. Really only have all day Saturday and a few hours Sunday to work on it. The prep work sucks.

I am leaving it flat. The C series is not as durable as the H or E bake series but it is more UV resistant. I just used a maroon 3m pad on it to rough it for the lighter color over the stencils and it was taking some effort to get into the finish. I read where another person did his truck and had gone through a ton of brush, Arizona pin-striping as it's known, with no scratches. The nice thing is without clear, it is very easy to touch up if needed.

Looks very pro. Good job! Im personally thinking of doing mine in that sandy colour but maybe with a gloss just for durability. Keep it coming!

Finally got the entire box done along with the hood. I also had the bumper powder coated to match the rims. I was going to leave the bumper cover tread black but it didn't look right so I went ahead and Cerakoted it as well. This weekend I will finish painting the Sequoia Grille flat black and Raptor line the bed. Still need to install the new backup camera as well.

I was going to paint the front bumper but finally decide to do an off road bumper on the front. I just ordered the NFab MRDS and will have it powder coated as well when it arrives. Wish there was something I could do differently with the tail lights...maybe smoked ones wouldn't scream so loud with the camo?
