No, no damage! There's a gap, just not big enough depending on any flexing that may happen on the trail. I could very well end up trimming the piece at some point.

Lemme know if you want better pics of that area so you can tell Steve how much room you want for yours.

I'm not sure if Steven is of the mind to make this their "standard" design as far as if it's with a winch. Sure, you may not always use it, but I rather have than not...

Well he told me they have a winch bumper then they have their standard high clearance bumper that’s what I meant sorry. Way different pricing high clearance starts at 1250 then winch bumper starts at 1800

Yeah, the winch I think cost me an extra $600+, I can look if you want precisely the cost. But I'm very, very happy with how it looks and knowing I have the winch if needed.

Yeah, he did a custom mount of the winch control, it's tucked into the passenger side to the side of where the skid ends. Gives it more clearance and better angle of approach...and the tube sticks out enough that you don't really need a push bar.

He told me it was $1800 for just the winch bumper and then $2600 for the bumper+winch. So about $1400 more if I went that route which is way out of my price range hah. I was thinking of getting the bumper and installing the winch later it’s just nice to have the option to install one

For those with SS Built and Valence. Is there any audible road noise increase? Does it whistle or make any additional noise on the highway?

Im between the SS Built and a C4 full expo bumper but love the idea of the low profile pre-runner look of the SS Built. Any insight appreciated, thanks guys

I got in on the group buy last year, and got a good price but still not "cheap" by any means. Cost went up with the winch, and its capacity is 12K lbs so should be plenty power. Maybe do front or rear first and then the other? Dunno, I totally get keeping budget in mind.

    All stock-ish. Powdercoated blue suspension.
Mines rub there also on both sides, powdercoating is rubbing off also. Honestly with the stock bumper it rubbed and made contact too so... it doesnt bothered me much. Just depends on how hard you get your truck to flex or smashing it lol.

The valance had no effects on or off with wind noise. I'll be honest the tires make more noise than the valance on the bumper. In fact, my prinsu cab rack makes a crap ton of wind noise above me with the wind deflector on still lol. Bumper valance none.

Meets? Lol. I cant stand meets anymore, I do not like attending meets, shows or anything. If there's a charity I'll drive by put my donations in and stick around for maybe 10 minutes and leave, but honestly I'm just not a person for meets. I like to just drive out get some fun wheeling sesh in and enjoy the spurred moment then go back home and enjoy a cold one or two with some tomahawks on the grill or in the sous vide.

I have Evil bumpers on my Gen2. I like both of them but would tweak them just a bit if I had it to do again.
The front looks great and has a nice approach angle. They took out the forward most frame support to get that approach and the design also leaves the lower corners of the radiator exposed. I’m working on a fix for both issues with @papasmurf
The rear all I would change is wrapping the bumper around the back corners of the truck a little.

I’ll be sure to tell them about this if I decide to get the SS bumper. Found a great deal on an evil bumper and the bumper avoids that point of the bumper ends.

I have the SS front and rear bumpers also. Dara is right they can definitely make some changes on how they do certain things that's for sure. But when it comes to the quality and craftsmanship of their work (when they get to your truck) they are really really good. My SS rear bumper uses the factory bolts which I like. I even tow a 6500lb toy hauler with that bumper and it holds up like a champ. I've towed my trailer 9 hours up to the Eastern Sierra's (way past Mammoth) on some monster inclines. You really can't go wrong with SS or Evil. Ive dealt with Doug at Evil many of times and he makes damn good stuff as well. I'm actually taking my truck to him next week to make some custom seat brackets for my PRP seats.
