Wife got me a new pair of Dan Post ostrich square toes as a EAS gift

 

Just got a new pair of Lucchese caiman.

 

I bought my first pair of exotic skin boots yesterday. Dan Post chocolate ostrich skin. They are the most comfortable cowboy boots i have ever worn and I've had a lot of cowboy boots.

 

Live in BR, Louisiana but from the country!

Ariat square toe Ramblers over here. Love them and the most comfy pair I’ve had!

 

Bought me a new pair of caiman belly Dan Post boots for Christmas. Comfortable as hell. This is my 2nd pair of Dan Post boots, the other pair is ostrich skin.

 

My first ever pair still staying strong after 10 years and two pairs of new soles and heels , hand made in USA Justin bent rail, loved them so much I bought a 1794 to match the leather .

 

Since Tecovas finally started making square toes, been thinkin I need some new boots! Now the real question is ostrich or bison…

 

The Doc will be my next pair of boots

 

Never wore any bison boots, but ostrich is extremely comfortable, plus I've heard nothing but good things about tecovas boots.

For you Dan Post guys, I've got a pair of ostrich and caiman that have the "Cowboy Certified" bottoms. They eventually fail and as far as I know cannot be replaced. With that said my ostrich are pushing 7 years and the pair my wife blew out were around the same with both having a lot of wear time. Here's the bottom of my ostrich.

I have a pair of Frye Harness boots that I cut the “harness” off, basically turning them back into a western boot.

But my normal boots are my custom Whites Semi Dress in water buffalo.

 

Looking at your picture, a good boot person should be able to put a leather or Goodyear rubber sole on them.

 

I’ll be following this thread. Looking to pick up my first pair of boots in the near future. Currently only have logging boots and those can get heavy real quick

 

I haven’t met many people who have exotics, so good to hear that ostrich is comfortable!

Cartwrights pointed toe I’m guessing?

 

Ostrich is so comfortable because it is soft to the feel but it is surprisingly very tough. I’ve had 3 pair of full quill and 2 or 3 pair of smooth belly Justin Ropers and they have all been great.
