Bad ass. I dig the Long Beach Harbor Chevrolet license plate frame. I live about a mile from there. They still have all the neon signage for the dealership that I assume they have maintained since that era. It looks really cool.

Ah very cool. I always wondered if your name referenced the LB State team. I'm born and raised LB.

Indeed it is!! I seen your rides and I get the itch!! I have a list of things that need to be addressed 1st before I can even turn it over by hand, but within the next 3-4 weeks I will be transferring the Nova to my house to asses how much will need to be done just to crank it.

My goal is by the end of summer it's running well enough to take the wife to get a burger and milkshake!!

From there the options are limitless:D but the funds are not:(

$35K. I'm not even sure why I sold it. Woke up one saturday, saw it under the cover in the driveway and just said it was time (keep in mind I still drove it all the time). Put it up sunday morning for sale. By noon had 3 guys seeing it in person.

The story of this merc is totally random. It sat as my computer background for the last few years. As the guy that bought my 63 was filling out his name, something popped in my head. I asked him if he was the guy that had built this merc. Sure as shit he was. He spent about 10 years building it, sold it about 3 years ago. Needless to say, he helped me track down the owner and after a week of negotiations, here we are :)

The guy did a great job on the chop. I've seen more than a couple that were butchered pretty bad and looked like crap.

When I was growing up we always had some kind of cool car. I remember a '56 2 door post, two different '63 Impala SS's (a black one and a brown one like yours) and then my mom's all time favorite, a '67 Caprice custom coupe with the 396. She charmed her way out of more that a couple tickets in that car.

Here's a pic of the brown '63. This was in '71 when we lived in the Philippines. Dad had it shipped over when we moved there.

Sweet rides!!! I have a soft spot for 60s Impala. When I was younger, we used to take my buddy's 63 Impala with hydraulics sitting on daytons to lowrider shows. We had a blast traveling with it, lots of great memories. I actually got back in touch with him recently, he still has the Impala but is completely rebuilding it...with Art Morrison chassis w/ air and LS motor swap. I would love to get my hands on a 63 or 64 to build.

    love it

And yes, the chop is perfect. I grew up around a bunch of chop mercs down in So Cal, this chop is one of the best i've seen. It's really easy to make them look done. This car was touched by all top notch builders. The guy that built it now is the shop foreman at Moals. John Aiello helped him do the chop, Darryl Hollenback did the paint. The three of them all use to run a shop together.

Hell yea! I'm really good friends with Art Morrisons son. He's been trying for 15 years to get me to throw their chassis under my '55. Had I not bought the Merc, that's what I'd be doing.
