If you look up the part in the ECGS website, they have a video tutorial.

There are a couple of vids already. I watched the ECGS one and Timmy the Tool man. The only thing they don't show well is seating the bushing. The race/seal kit that ECGS sells doesn't go small enough for the bushing, so you end up using the tool backwards.

Had some TRD 17" SEMA wheels in the garage, put them on my Tundra today with some new 265/70r17 all terrains (Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus, love these tires on my Tahoe...). I think I am liking the look:

yes on the V, but I was thinking just paint the whole 8 yellow.
Really any way you wish, it's a subtle nod, so any way you wish is good.

Started the front bumper swap. Going with the black 00-02 steel version. Ordered up some silver sky 1D6 from Automotive Touchup as well. Looks like some of you have had some good results with their spray can setup.

Huge pain in the ass cutting thru those stock cam bolts. I had the same problem. Trying to avoid this issue again and went with the SPC versions. We shall see...

SPC mid arm kit, bilstein 6112 leveled struts, in route to my house now are shorty headers, true dual flow master super 10s, and a cold air intake.
I went with true dual flow master super 10s and I have no cab drone I’ve been extremely happy with how it sounds. I highly recommend the H over the X pipe most muffler shops will do there own, there are sound clips on YouTube that helped me make my decisions I also dumped out behind the rear tire to look stock on both sides and I didn’t have to worry about melting MTB tires when I have them on my tailgate, or I would have went straight out the back.

i only had to cut one. the reason it was being replaced was the bent arm. but at 200k im not about to do just one.. so 2 new napa arms and new toyota cams. Antiseize goes a long way for them to last a long time. pulled the cam tabs on my fathers 02 when they were still moving, loaded them up with antiseize and theyre still moving 130k miles later.

also got ball joints, end links, and i may just get camburg arms and have a whole new front suspension.. all i havent changed is the outer tie rods... and i may even order those.. Hell even the rack is new. damn truck doesnt know what hit it after that rollover! from abused to overly taken care of

Nice! Same here, refreshed almost all of it and went with the Camburg UCA's. I say go for it, they're a nice upgrade from stock.

i have had icons and total chaos arms on my taco. i really just need the camburgs for the caster. i can only get 1.2 degrees with the stock uppers.... but i know it'll happen, then it'll turn into i want more than the 5100s... and down the rabbit hole i go further

Id definitely recommend checking the FN Fx Pros. They are alittle more but are wider and a 0 offset. Plus more color options

FINALLY finished. It’s not 100% great. I had a hard time finishing the spokes as well as stretching the cover so the edges can meet in the middle so there are a few places it has a little gap. Otherwise I would say measure the thread by just laying it along the seam and you won’t need much more than that. Half my time was spent untangling the thread! Had my wife hold it taut midway into it which helped out a lot.

eek extra 350 bucks compared to my price on the TRD wheels. but the extra width is tempting... ive got time before i go with other wheels. other projects first (like finishing the radio so i can do the write up)

February i plan on getting it to the rolling stage.

i need the tundra sorted out because i have a good chance its going to colorado to pick up 4 tacoma frames to start my process of buying rotted out trucks and saving them from the dead. (and to make a little coin)

im working the deal out. but someones got parts trucks that he may be willing to let all the frames (with control arms, leafsprings and brake lines) go for dirt cheap.. i'll just load them up on frame pallets on a trailer and make the long trek home.

@empty_lord I'd any of those frames are for single cab you should do some v6 swaps and if any are double cab, do manual swaps. That would make their value even better. I'd be tempted to buy a manual 5vz DC first gen taco

gotta sort out storing them too. at least as mostly bare frames they can be stacked

i actually have a guy willing to pay me 1500 for one of them so he can do the swap himself on his 98

I'm still patiently looking for a T100 extra cab with 5vz and manual at the right price. The only one I've found on auto trader is in NJ and has some rust so it's likely rotted. Sometimes I see em in TX on craigslist but they usually want way too much.

theres only 2 t100s i know actively driving around out here anymore. theyre damn near extinct up north. They make tacoma rot look like nothing.. literally have control arms rotting off of them

I couldn't get it to work. Adding spacers made it look like it was hanging too low.

After screwing around, I wasn't convinced the drop really made a huge difference. It seemed to rotate the diff, but not really lower it.
